VaporFlask DNA 40 Battery Questions

New member here!

I have a VaporFlask dna 40 that I'm running with two VTC4's that I purchased from a reputable source (VaporShark). The battery life is pretty good, though I'm a chain vaper so I honestly only get through a day and a half. Anyways, I was wondering if it would be safe to use two 10amp batteries with higher capacities (the DNA40 requires 16 amps). Is the VaporFlask run in parallel? I assumed it was, since the board is usually run with only a single battery.

I'm looking forward to getting to know more of you guys on the forum -- I've been vaping on and off for a while, but this is the first time I decided to join ECF .

It'll be safe with the DNA, I do the same at times. The only issue might be at higher power settings and or with a low ohm coil the batteries might not be able to supply enough power to get you where you want to be but with a normal load at a normal power setting it'll work fine and yes the batteries are run in parallel.

Hey man,

Yeah the VF is run in parallel. I honestly would recommend sticking to the recommended batteries (Sony VTCx, LG HE2/HE4, etc). You just don't wanna risk venting a battery by exceeding the amp limit.

Are you running your attys in temp protect mode? if so, then the "preheat" function of TP dumps all the available power into the atty for a second, until your coils warm up. This is one of the main reasons that the DNA 40 requires higher-amp limit batteries. So even if you're not running high wattages, the mod will still utilize all the available power from your battery when it's doing its "preheat" thing.....

The answer is yes, but the counterpoint is, check into exactly what the performance is of those lower amp batteries at the expected loads. Despite the higher nominal ratings, you may find the capacity at your loads is similar to or even lower than lower nominally rated batteries with higher amp ratings.

The difficulty with the Vapor Flask is finding batteries that actually fit in the tubes. I believe the only confirmed/approved batteries are the Sonys and the LG He2's. Some individuals have reported success with others (Samsungs, Efests) but it is VERY hit and miss.
