First off, I'd like to give a tremendous thanks to everyone on this forum. I've spent the last week trying to soak as much information in as possible. After watching and reading many reviews, checking out opinions as well as customer service perception, I decided to make VaporKing my choice.

I've been smoking for about 20 years, sometimes as much as 3 or 4 packs a day, but have recently gotten it down to about a pack a day. I've about had it with the taxes, the smoker's cough and the negative effects of smoking on my health. Quittin' ain't easy though.

After much due diligence, I finally ordered my Ultimate VaporKing package and a few smokey cartridges to boot. I've been absolutely impatient in awaiting their arrival. I ordered Monday night and they arrived in the mail today. I was giddy like a kid on Christmas morning, ripping apart the wrapping and then patiently studying each and every piece.

I'd like to throw out a huge thanks to Steve and the Mrs. They shipped super promptly and everything arrived as promised, hell, they even threw in some extra cartridges, Hilton and Redcow, awesome customer service! Course, that was one of the reasons I chose Vapor4Life in the first place having poured through these forums.

Now to the nitty gritty, first a couple of newb questions, I won't be able to forgive myself if I damage these things.

When I plug in the PCC, the top red light comes on, does that mean charged or keep charging?

When I plug in the wall unit or the USB unit, it blinks a few times then the light turns red, charged or keep charging?

Ok, more newb questions to come,

I'm dying to tell y'all that my first hit was pure delight, but in truth, this is my first e-cig ever and my only comparison is smoking analogs. My first few drags off of several different carts resulted in very little vapor, but as I continued to draw, I finally got a good vape, I take it they have to warm up a bit?

Secondly, on all attempts I got a good throat kick, almost too much, as most of the attempts resulted in me hacking up. Perhaps it's because I'm a Marlboro light smoker and I ordered too much nicotine typically 24mg and the 36mg, or it could be that I'm drawing too hard, although I tried for the smooth draw.

On taste, I can't comment at all at this time, I'm suffering a horrible cold and can't taste a darn thing.

It's way too early for me to be giving any ratings other than,
I'm super excited to be in possesion of this thing, and I think it's going to rock and I'm going to love it, and hopefully give up analogs altogether.

Also that Steve's customer service and product are second to none.

Thanks again, Steve and all of you, if anybody could help answer my super newb questions I'd be very grateful.

Sorry for the length, and hopefully I'll be able to someday end with one of those awesome 766 days without a smoke sigs.

Thanks,
Runk.

When I plug in the wall unit or the USB unit, it blinks a few times then the light turns red, charged or keep charging?

The blinking just means that you connected the battery correctly and the red light means chargeing. It will turn blue when done, somtimes the USB will turn purpleish when it's almost done and than turn blue when its 100%.

I take it they have to warm up a bit?
Yes a fresh cart will take a couple pulls to warm the juice up to get good vapor, totally normal.

Thats super high nic but if you were a 3-4 pack a day it might be right im not sure. The highest I've ever vaped was 11mg that was sent by mistake on a few flavors and it packs a punch for me. I also find throat hit varies tremendously between flavors. You might want to try lesser nic carts. I knew I would probably be vapeing more than I smoked analogs before I even started especially since its odorless indoors so I stick with the lowest nic thats in stock I can get soon going to try 0 nic only see if it keeps me satisfied. I was a norm half a pack a day smoker but ocasionally 1-2 packs a day for 10 years.

Awesome thanks for the reply DiMeZ, I've already noticed that the kick isn't killing me anymore, and the vapor is picking up. I might have gone a little crazy on the nic ordering, but I was fearful it just wouldn't be enough.

Now that I'm 12 or 15 puffs deep, I'm coming to like it better. It's not a Marlboro light, but that's the point, I think I'll be able to adapt, and eventually start trying flavors as opposed to a bunch of tobacco cartridges.

Now to the nitty gritty, first a couple of newb questions, I won't be able to forgive myself if I damage these things.

When I plug in the PCC, the top red light comes on, does that mean charged or keep charging?

There's two lights on the PCC, the top one is red while charging (the PCC), turns green when charge is complete, bottom light indicates battery (cig battery screwed in) is charging...it "pips" or blinks when battery is charged. this is the whole purpose of those two lights on the PCC

When I plug in the wall unit or the USB unit, it blinks a few times then the light turns red, charged or keep charging?

Your battery will blink several times which is a "charging confirm" light..means your battery is connected and knows it's being charged..this will happen when you plug it into the usb charger, wall charger or the PCC...probably the protection circuit. A red light on the charger itself (usb or wall) means keep on chargin...the usb changes to red+blue when charged...the wall unit's red light turns green when fully charged

The bottom light on the PCC will light, go out, then light (indicating PCC circuitry identified a battery and has begun charging it)

Ok, more newb questions to come,

yes, a new cart nice and full is just barely flooded..you have to dry the wire atomizer slightly before it'll make vapor properly..a few drags will do it usually. This will happen when you have just filled a cart too. due to the design the fluid comes in direct contact with the heater coil, it's supposed to get on the paper divider and vape...that first few drags orients the fluid to where it belongs (the paper) and removes the fluid from the wire.

What i do now is put a new cart on the passthrough and give it a few puffs..thats all it takes to clear a new atomizer and it works super fast cause the passthrough is slightly hotter than a new battery of course.

PG is a little sharp for some users, and a small percentage have trouble with it. The nic content adds to the throat hit...but throat hit is not to be confused with "adam's apple or larnyx rape"... Throat hit is a pleasant collision with the back of your throat (right behind your tongue) as the nic turns the corner, and feels just like an analog...discomfort, pain, or unpleasantness is not throat hit.

If it feels like someone ripped out your vocal cords with fishing hooks, you might be one of those unfortunate ones that should vape VG (veg glycerin) instead of PG. I'd like to see genuine Vapor King VG carts and some VG liquids on the V4L site..but theyre not in demand like PG is.
Also remember you have a cold, which makes it darn rough to "smoke" an analog..."smoking" a PV isn't going to be lots and loads easier. VG liquids tend to suppress flavors somewhat, and leave a coating in your mouth like beef tallow does ..kinda like a thin thin layer of wax, believed to be harmless and actually nice on lungs that have been abused for years by cigs. Veg Glycerin is used to soften hands as an all natural alternative to lotions which contain alcohol which actually dry hands and make you use more LOL!

somewhere out there......
Jeesh took the words right out of my mouth. One other thing you can always work your nic level down. i started with 18 and Im now at 6mg. Which is where I love it. But it took me 4 months to get comfortable with low low level. I will not use this to quit nicotine. But I do use this as an alternative to tobacco cigarettes. Cigarettes taste like s*** its that simple. Smoke makes everything smell. And if you have a fiance that has asthma then you will know where I am coming from when I tell you she use to get some of the worse flare ups just from smelling me. It almost killed me watching her get that way. Life has a way to get you to wake up and get with the program.

These ecigs are the best alternative to smoking. I love it....my fiance loves me more for it. She rarely has a flare up now. And if she does its b/c of allergy season. I can vape right next to her and it doesn't even phase her. And vaping the banana flavor she actually likes that smell....

Take it slow and find the groove you think is best for you when it comes to nic level. Smilin loves his 24mg and 36mg level.....I love my 6mg level.....and if you find 11mg to be just right then stick with that. have fun with it and you never know you might wake up one morning and find yourself debating which flavor to start out with in the morning and when that happens you'll know then that you are off the smokes for good...If you aren't reaching for those smokes in the morning and instead reaching for that VK you are no longer apart of the smoking crowd.

Awesome reply kc0cmp!

Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions!

Problem solved on the larnyx rape (lol), I think I was inhaling way too hard, I've been puffin' on a Marlboro cart happily now, feels great and I haven't even thought about going outside for a smoke!

its like learning to smoke kinda, you gotta get used to it. once you are its second nature. i think everyone has a holy crap what ws that moment when they first start vapin, particularly anything huge. I hammered down analogs like a midget stripper hammers down ...wait neermind...i smoked a lot...and i vape 24 hard atm...i expect to knock that down eventually, and as long as i mix it up some and dont try to go berzerko all at once, it should be easy. I will say that 24 saved me from a few "go kill that guy and take his analog" moments i'd have not survived on lower nic, at least in the beginning

i was a 1-2pack a day lights smoker. I find the 16-18mg range of nic is good for me. I vape 5-6 carts a day. And have a 24 mg for days I goto work or if a strange craving hits me up but mostly 16-18mg. But those cravings dissapear during the week or less it will take you to get off analogs completely. Reason being they taste so disgusting after you've been vaping. lol Just remember to hydrate, drink water and your throat will not get so scratchy.

When I first started vaping, I had the worst sore throat. Vaping PG does require your body to adjust to it for awhile. This doesn't happen to everyone but if you find it happening to you, I found the best thing that worked was having a small, hard candy in my mouth while I vaped. Totaly took away that glass-in-the-throat feeling until the PG didn't bother me anymore. Drinks lots of fluid and enjoy!

Kc0cmp - God you make me laugh! You have such a way with words!!

Same here. I would not automatically assume it is a PG reaction. My throat and mouth were very dry the first week. Lots of water helped tremendously. Now I am easy sailing, not dryness to speak of. I don't even have that itchy cough on the first vape of the morning anymore. Love this stuff!:hubba:

As far as mgs go, I was a 2 pack a day lights smoker and 24 barely cuts it for me.. I pretty much breathe through the thing. There's a chart around somewhere that shows what a vast difference in nicotine absorption there is from cigarette smokers. Much of this probably has to do with how the cig is smoked...

That all changes when you switch to the e-cig. Some people who smoked more than me do fine on 11 or 12mg, others who smoked less than me need 36mg (or higher!).

I think 18 or 24 is a good starting point for most.

Couldn't agree more, Isande. Was an ultra light smoker myself (1 pack or a litte more a day sometimes) and started with the 16 - 18mg. Just not enough kick! Once I switched to some 24 mg it really took the edge off. Thought there was something the matter with me until I read the same thing about how vaping does not absorb the nic the same way as an analog does.

Yay just got my new carts in!!!! Steve rocks, threw in an extra bottle of mint and a USB Passthrough!!!!! WOOOOOOOT now I've got one for my car, awesome!! Customer service unmatched anywhere!

Now to the other business at hand. I received my VK on Wed Sept 2nd at around 7pm. I haven't had a analog since then and I don't think I'll ever go back. 19 years of smoking sometimes 4+ packs a day, gone, and good riddance.

I don't have experience with any other ecigs, but I'm madly in love with my VK, and just received a new shipment of flavors. My first batch was all tobacco flavors, but I'm digging vaping something other than tobacco, grape is amazing, can't wait to try mint.

Thanks Steve, you've saved my life, and hopefully, many of my friends lives to come.

Wow...that's very generous since you ordered the ultimate kit which comes with a passthrough. :D

Anyway I wanted to comment on flavor and taste. I have not received my kit yet, should be here tomorrow. But after many years of smoking I know my taste buds are not very sensitive...same with sense of smell. I am anticipating that once I have been vaping for a while this will improve, thus cartomizer flavors will start to taste more intense with time.
