Hi all... just checking in. Sorry I haven't been in the forum lately. But my blood sugar has been going a little nuts lately. And it was advised that I take at least the one day off. Check back soon.
Sir Lawrence - I hope you are resting and taking care of yourself!!! As anxious/impatient as everyone is for their mods, your health is MOST important. Family and health FIRST, then mods, then everything else! :toast:

Thanks all. You are all very kind. I'm getting my work done, though. But too humid to powder coat today.

I don't know if you are all watching the news, but there was a shooter at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and they shut everything down there for a while. My wife is an RN at a pediatric hospital right in the middle of if it all. That goodness it's over now, since she works tonight at 11pm.

Good Lord! Thank God she wasn't there when it went down. What's up with all the shootings lately? Cripes. I know thigs are bad, but for crying out loud, if ya want to end it, end it. No reason to make choices for other people and take their lives too.

How's the blood sugar going? Do you have diabetes or hyper/hypo glycemia? Either way, you need to take care of you first.

Life's just been weird lately.

Hi Sir. I'm about to make the jump and order a Sabre Touch. When will the new switches be available?

Well, I'm so glad you are choosing the ST! The more sensitive switches are being installed now! The Saber Touch sensor switch looks exactly the same, it's just a little more sensitive to the touch. And don't forget to make a selection from each of the choices so I know exactly how you want your ST to look!

OMG... you have developed a callus on two fingers? You must have really dry skin! LOL All I'm doing is making the switch a little more sensitive. If it is too sensitive, I don't want it to go off in your pocket! The main thing is to remember to have nice moist skin, and completely cover the switch with your finger. You really don't have to press hard, it's a matter of contact.

And thank you for your concern. The doctor did talk me into getting a blood meter, so I chose the kind you can do readings off of your arm. He wants me to do this 3x a day for 30 days to see how I'm doing. I know what it is... I have to stay off that Key Lime Pie Juice!

I never noticed that I had dry skin until I got my first ST. I thought it was just me, like i have some weird energy. In my left hand. I have a hard time getting the switch to fire even if I wet the finger sometimes. My right hand is fine, it always works in my right hand moistened finger or not lol. I just figured it is just me. Sometimes it is irritating but most days it works fine. I think I press on the switch harder because of the days it doesn't work and that is what gave me the callous.

Key lime pie juice huh LOL. Did Smokie send it to you? I heard he was sending you some in a video of his.

My Mom just recently had to wear a monitor on her stomach. She can not keep her sugar regulated it goes way down and then way up. She will not test herself regularly and I think that really screws her up. Her idea of checking her sugar is once every few days. So the Dr made her wear one for 2 weeks, it took her blood sugar every 5 minutes.

My experience with the mini is pretty much like Nyxie's. I've never had an issue with dry skin before, either. I've tried a couple of things, i.e., got a metal drip tip, thought that might help but it doesn't make a difference; tried to come up with something that would increase the conductivity, but no luck except a freshly charged batt and a wet finger 90% of the time. I LOVE it when it works - a super sensitive sensor switch would be the answer, I think. I even thought I should have gotten the metal ST, IDK if that would have made a difference. I was thinking no way I could entertain anothr powder coated ST (purple is pretty).
Any ideas, Sir?
I hope you're feeling better. Not sure taking a day off is gonna help much if you just work twice as hard the next day. TG your wife wasn't at work when the shooting happened. I hope no one was hurt. It's a sad world sometimes. I even feel for the shooter ... such a waste.

99% of all the people who have the mini really don't have a problem with the sensitivity. I think it's just the moisture content of the skin... inside! When my hands are really dry, and I usually vape with my thumb, I touch the sensor closer to the 1st crease on my thumb. That seems to work really well since the skin is thinner there.
