Im here, somewhere in the cosmos, actually Im on the moon howling sadly, my poor Saber Touch met with like an accident this weekend. "Riddick" took a dive from about 3 feet on to the tile floor. The black glass phiniac took most of the impact causing it to bend the 510 connector so that the tank is crooked to one side. Looking at the tank it looks unharmed but I can see a small hairline crack. I had not noticed anything was wrong right away. I had just punched a carto and put it in the tank right before it happened.
I was noticing that the carto was not staying wet and getting real dry. It was also not getting much vape. I must have punched a half dozen cartos and popped them in thinking something was wrong with the new boxes I got in of boge. It would not last for more than about an hour and they started acting all dry and vape was low. I changed the batteries on the saber every hour thinking what the heck. I finally transferred the latest carto to another tank, same thing. I attached everything to my KGO battery and no problem. Vaped like a storm. Thats when I noticed as I was taking tank off that it was spinning off kilter. I took the tank under a lighted magnifying glass and I saw the crack and saw that juice was oozing out of the orings. Carto was flooded, but not performing.
Man I was going nuts. I guess when the tank hit the tile it pushed the carto hard enough to bend the connection. Now the poor Saber is hardly geting enough battery contact causing poor vape production and sometime it doesnt fire at all. I have to take the batteries out and put them back in and turn and recap and then It finally makes a connection and starts firing well, then the power dies off.
Im so sad, I put Riddick back in the original bubble wrap, put the nice polishing cloth around it, put it in the original box with added foam around it, along with the endcap and a battery so Sir Lawerence can make sure what exactly got damaged. Im hoping Sir Lawrence can resurrect Riddick . Im in mourning.
Its a dark day im my little world. Hope fully I can get a diagnosis and outcome soon:(

thanks for the condolences. I hope its not too bad. It was all set to place my new Steam Machine VST and vape away. I put it on my Saber Touch and it was such a poor vape. It just doesnt seem to conduct enough power to get but a puff off it. I put it on my KGO and wow.

I was getting such a good vape off the little Phoenix also. I even built my first wick for it, and couldnt enjoy it. I cant believe what an awesome vape off the little genesis style atty tank. I have to order some wicks and wire, any suggestions on where to get the wicks and wire and to use either kanthal or nichrome. I think with the kanthal you dont get a breaking in taste?

Aren't RBA's GREAT:thumbs: For wicks I would recommend SS mesh(400) and Wire, I recommend Kanthal. I cant recommend any place to get either right now, as I haven't ordered any as of yet. My BFF(forever) wings, sent me some when I got my RBA's(a lil' goes a LOOOONG way:))

Nice choice on the Steam Machine BTW, I've been eying that thing for a while:drool:

Well, it was vaping like a train for a few hours, great taste etc. So easy to setup, but late last night it started with dry hits and slight burned taste. Im sure its a easy fix, but I hope I get some good tips on the Steam Machine forum soon. Why cant all these things be easy to set up and use with out having to fiddle and become junior electricians? One thing, so far the little Phoenix, other than the old carto in a tank, has been the least fiddle free and keeps producing and performing the best. But it only holds 10 drops at a time. There has to be the perfect juice delivery out there that can combine ease, function , beauty and consistent performance with out too much fiddling.

I, too, am so sorry to hear about Riddick's accident. Things happen, but if it can be fixed I am sure Sir Lawrence will be able to do it.

I have been pleasantly surprised with ease of use of my Phiniac tank with cartos. Some folks do not like cartos, but I find them tasty and enjoyable. Very low on the fiddle factor.

Lastly, for the auction, I am always partial to a 5v Saber. Maybe something with a unique color or special turned lines. Something very "one-of-a-kind", you know.

Well, Im really depressed, not only is my saber touch down for the count, but my new toy ( expensive ) is down for the count too. I somehow burned the coil, dont know if it was the juice being too high in VG, or what, but I decided to try my had at making a new coil and wick. There were a few how to videos on how to take it apart, rebuid the wick and coil, but nothing to let you know how to detach the ceramic cup from the stem. I pulled, I turned, gently of course. I could not get it off. My index finger was actually blistered so I got this special pair of pliers that are cushioned and rubberized so not to make a mark or damage, and the cup broke off. Dang it. Now I have to order a ceramic cup, its cheap, but it took 10 days for the steam machine to get here and its going to be another 10 days till I can get the cup.
I dont know what caused it to burn, It was wet at all times. Only thing that I did was flood it before the burning taste started. Could flooding cause it to burn the coil to a thick crusty mess? Oh well, I have my one good KGO and Vivi Nova tank and my phiniac tank going. So now I have a beautiful black glass phiniac with a hairline crack, 1 beautiful piece of tooled stainless steel with a cute train logo sitting there taunting me and my beautiful "Riddick" in a box headed up to Maryland. Im bummed.

Aw man, you are having it all crash down at once, sorry to hear all this anavid:( It'll get better:) I do believe flooding it with High VG could have had something to do with ir getting built up with a thick crust. I could be wrong though. But I do know on regular attys, flooding an atty is sometimes worse for the atty than running it dry:ohmy:

I spoke to the vendor where I bought it and they insisted that it just needed to be chipped off and that there was no way it could have become fused to the steel stem. I know that if I would have continued to work it out and force it the stainless steel would have been damaged and the new ceramic cup would never have been sealling like it should and the non-resistance wires probably would have gotten twitchy contact.
The guy on the Steam machine co-op was so kind and stands by the steam machine, he contacted me and arranged to send me a replacement base. I was shocked, even though he had no reason to he belives in the product and he and Atmomixani, the maker stand behind the unit and didnt want me to have any sort of bad experience with their product. I wish I would have bought it from him in the first place , price was better but I thought a well known reputable website would be safer should a problem arise. I was wrong.

I know its not easy running a business, especially those like Sir Lawrence and Kalifan/ Atmomixani. But they stand behind their creations and dont want their good name soiled. Its their life. I am amazed. There are a lot of good vendors and there are a lot that treat everyone like they are trying to pull a fast one on them, I dont blame them , even in our small community there are a small percentage of people that try to get more than they paid for and give vendors cause for becoming jaded.

I believe that if there is a problem, always contact the vendor and give them a chance to make good, before getting on the forum and bashing them and possibly ruining their reputation. Vendors do have lives and families and sometimes they have to make choices.

So there, thats my rant for the week, and Hats off to those wonderful people out there Like Sir Lawrence and Kalifan / Atmomixani for creating beautiful and outstanding products that they standby.
