I have the best results when I don't overfill those with juice, especially if they come a bit overstuffed (with filler) to begin with. Decreases the airflow through the carto, in my experience. I refill early and I refill often. And I always inspect the insides of the carto before I vape it to make sure the filler is evenly saturated and that the airflow tube is centered. If not, I run a thick sewing needle through it to recenter it.

Yep I definitely think this was my issue. I haven't gone back to try to revive the ones I put in the box as dead yet but I'm going to. I've been going thru these like crazy and really can't afford to use two of them every day. I also now blow them out before I fill them. I did notice that although my menthol juice is quite clear when I blew out the carto dark brown almost black juice came out so I know I overfilled and then the extra juice just burned and was NASTY. So I cut back from putting like 15-20 drops in every 3 hours to just putting in about 10-12 every hour. Kind of like getting my ciggy ready to go when I smoked, lol!

In summary - do NOT overfill these! It is the bane of their existence!

I wasn't going to order anymore but now I'm going to... just got some peach cobbler from TV and I CAN'T WAIT!

So thaaaaat's what that black/dark brown stuff is -- I get it, too, and wasn't sure what it was! Ewww...

Do you toss them after that char-juice shows up or do you wash and all is OK???

I just blow it out before I refill again and they seem to be fine after that. This icky juice is just from overfilling and then trying to vape it. Yes... I AM stubborn!

NOTE I just learned another valuable(costly) lesson about these cartos. I just put 20 drops of my brand new YUMMY smelling peach cobbler in a new carto and put it on and it doesn't fit  Oh well, lesson learned - try these on your battery BEFORE filling a new one! LOL I know I saw somewhere that someone retrieved their juice using a reverse taryn spin so I'm off to try that!

Here's another tip -- make sure you let the juice soak ALL the way in...
I've been using cartos for 2.5 months but just got my first 100% VG juice to try. I filled, spun and let sit for ten minutes. Put it on the PT and WHAM-YOW! Nothing but acrid, burning TH.... Aghhhh!!!

It looked liked it was ready to go -- but looks can be deceiving. :) The second drag was 100% better, all flavor this time (yes, I just had to try it again). But, egads! That first drag was gawd-awful...

P.S. -- After that wretched experience, I DID take the mouthpiece off to look inside -- all appears OK, no obvious discoloration or burning. I'll probably dissect it later to really see...I've been reading about burnt carto filling since I've started vaping and none of the few I've cut open showed any signs of it. I'll be amazed if this one doesn't, but it really tasted perfectly alright the second pull, hmmmmm...

I've had to do the reverse Taryn a couple of times - works pretty good IMHO!

I've been using the "racing stripe" turbos (v3?) for a month and a half or so.
I've been very pleased with them. No overheating, hold lots of juice & provide good flavor and vapor. V4L has released cool carts and they seem to be exactly the same as the turbos. V4L does have them in a bunch of different colors.
