The US Drought of 1988 decimated the US with many parts of the country affected. This was the worst drought to hit the United States in many years. The drought caused $60 billion in damage. The concurrent heat waves killed 5,800 to 17,000 people in the United States.

In the 1960s my parents had a Chevy van. It had a fold down bed, cabinets, and curtains in the windows. I loved it!

Beverly Hills Cop is a 1984 American action comedy film directed by Martin Brest and starring Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, a street-smart Detroit cop who heads to Beverly Hills, California, to solve the murder of his best friend. Michael Jackson, Thriller, 1982. The eponymous single and full-length video were released in 1983. The video was directed by John Landis and was MTV's first "world premier" video release. It is also the first music video to ever be selected for the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

And one more for today - Friday The 13th: Part 2 (1981)

This is one of my absolute favorites because:

The film was the first to feature Jason Voorhees (Warrington Gillette, doubled by Steve Daskawisz) as the main antagonist, a trend which would be repeated for the rest of the series.
