I think this is over, so I'd like to suggest the 1860s for the next contest. Steam trains, Scarlett O'hara, gorgeous dresses, Abraham Lincoln, just no controversy about whether the war was wrong or right.

I am a Civil War buff so you will probably get all the battles and generals from me. I probably have a different view of Lincoln than most and still feel it was a shame Lee fought for the South... understand why but can just imagine how differently things could have been if he had fought for the North and become President...
