Are you talking about the ce4 stardust type clearo? The little metal piece being the "pip" or the tiny metal cone on top of the rubber cap that sits above the atty in the clearo?

Sorry I missed it! Lol, I got off the phone, my sister was still here and about to leave. I was showing her something, and didn't pay a lot of attention to the forums, so it slipped through the cracks.

In my experience, no.

I actually tried to find info on this about a month ago with no luck.. Seems like it only happened to me or just no one was talking about it. I pressed on mine too hard and is fell inside the airway, I took it out but it would not stay in place and just kept falling in. So I took it out and have honestly had 0 problems with it. Let it be known, I don't use it all day. It's like a backup clearo, so I can't say it won't leak but from what I've seen it hasn't yet.

What little info I found on them is that the old style stardusts came without them, and later they had a "top hat" tip and even later they added the "pip" cone.. So I would say no you don't NEED them, but they may help in keeping things from leaking. Just be careful with it and use your best judgement. I wouldn't hold it upside down for hours or anything but it could very well be fine.

Yes the "pip" lol do you even need that thing
