It does irritate some, but I don't do it for them, I do it for those that like it. The ones that get irritated can just pass right by. I don't mind.

I can understand that. We used to foster so many cats (as well as having our own) I had to turn my 2 car garage into a cattery. We had upwards of 15 fosters in the cattery and our 4 in the house. But we're done with that now. We only do short-term fostering (a couple of weeks) usually for post-surgical recovery or sometimes for socialization (abused animals). We've been fostering dogs more often lately. Still short-term, and for the same reasons.
