Was just reading a post about how much people are vaping per day and realized that most of the time, I'm a pretty light vaper. So why am I getting vapor's tongue so often? On average I'm using less than 2 ml per day of either 0 or 6 mg, usually max VG liquid, and every two or three days I end up with what feels like burns and a funky discoloration on my tongue (looks like coffee stains…gross). I have read a lot of threads about v.t. and have learned to take sips of water frequently while I vape, eat spicy things, rinse a lot, and I even try to keep my voltage low to make the vapor cooler. Nothing helps.
Anyone else struggling with this or something like it?

Outside of work I am a chain vaper, but I have only experienced VT once. Hated every second of it! What drew me to your post is I can feel it coming on again... either that or I need to switch up my flavor as I have been hitting the same one for three days now.

I have heard the more VG, the more often VT can occur, not sure if there is any weight to that comment however.

Well my sense of smell has increased but I sure lost my taste buds. My best and favorite juices have no taste. I drink 1-2 bottles of water day and that has not helped. I usually vape Nicoticket juices which are fantastic, but now they are tasteless as are the other flavors I have. I use a 50-50 mix.

Try taking a few hits of menthol I've heard that helps. Never had full on VT but I noticed dulling of flavor. A website suggested you may have a thin layer over your tongue which is stopping the flavor from reaching your taste buds. Take your toothbrush and scrub the crap out of your tongue, without making it bleed of course lol

I get dry mouth a lot, but not necessarily VP. It's the worst when the first thing i do when I wake up is vape. I do make it a point to drink a TON of water though. Approx 10 protein shaker bottles a day. But I do vape absolutely non stop since it's winter break for colleges now. Hehehe.

I drink 1-2 bottles of water day and that has not helped.

That is not enough water for a normal person let alone someone that is vaping during the day

http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm

Here is a calculator for you...add 1-2 bottles on top of what it says you should drink if you vape a lot.

Me..I am 225 pounds and I drink anywhere between 8-10 bottles of 12oz water a day....STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS

If your mouth is sore, could it simply be you have a reaction to the juice? Not knocking the manufacturer!! I can't vape peppermint, which is a bummer. Other mint flavors, no problem. I do keep a mint flavor in my rotation and can't say I've had VT. I did have a horrible cold/flu thing a couple weeks back and couldn't taste for a couple days. Vaped my less favorable flavors til it came back. That was a sad time for me.

Your VT hurts? What is the PG/VG % of your juice?

Lately, anywhere from 100% VG to 30/70. Have tried 50/50 and even 70/30, but don't notice much difference between them in terms of VT. And yup, it hurts...like a burn from overly hot pizza. It'll go away if I stick to my 'only a few hits every few hours' routine, but having to do that once or twice a week is getting old.

I have never had this and have vaped for 2.8 yrs. I thought this was a myth. I drink beer and wine, brush with baking soda and salt,Vape a mixture of 50/50vg@18mg Nic. I'm a vegetarian and I do use a lot of spice in my food. I take a ton of supplements a day. I drink a 1/2 gallon of green tea a day. lots of seltzer water. It bothers me,as I never want to have this. I know all my senses improved after I stopped smoking, but to lose my taste. I hope they find what causes this. I am not saying do what I do and you won't get it,I think it has to do with each person. I did smoke for 35 yrs and loved it when my smell and taste improved. Well there are some things and persons I would prefer not to smell:blink:

If it's painful I would think it's a reaction to one of the ingredients in the juice, maybe the flavoring, I feel bad for you, that's gotta be unpleasant...
