Weirdly I experience mouth ulcers after quitting smokes and went on to vaping. It's been getting better though, two months after not smoking the ulcer only comes once every two weeks or so and last a week. Annoying as hell but it's worth it. I hope it's not the juice causing the ulcers.

Do you suffer from heartburn?
I have suffered from heartburn and canker sores (mouth ulcers) most of my adult life, at this point I live off of prilosec. I realized a while back that the only time I get mouth ulcers is when I forget to take the prilosec, or if my heartburn over powers the meds. It's only happened twice since I started vaping and I know, at least in my case, there is no correlation between the two.

As for vapors tongue, it's best to frequently change up your liquids, including liquids from different manufacturers. Spicy foods and certain beverages can help, lemonade and powerade work for me. :)

ps, I have found that gargling with hydrogen peroxide mixed with water really helps with the canker sores, especially if you catch them early.

I've noticed personally since stopping analogs that for the first couple months I got cotton mouth easily and along with it vapor's tongue. According to my dentist, some chemicals in smoke restrict capillary flow and salivary flow in the mouth and that can make smokers more susceptible to canker sores. It can come and go for a while after stopping analogs as the toxin build up dissipates and will be different for different people due to physical make up as well as how much and what type of cigs were smoked. Now that I have been vaping regularly for 4 months I'm noticing an excess of saliva, especially when vaping. Both my Doc and my dentist have said these are normal swings as the body rebalances itself and the rich flavors in vape juice stimulate the senses. Both are former smokers turned vapor's :)

I stumbled across using Coconut Oil in oil pulling to treat sore throats a couple years ago and have been doing it 4-6 times a week since then... I'd definitely check it out for mouth ulcers and I bet it will work well. There are other oils you can use but if you go with Coconut Oil just make sure you use extra virgin coconut oil. More on that from earth clinic... Oil Pulling: An Ayurvedic Secret for Whole Health!

I've also experienced my first mouth ulcer (canker sore.) I stopped analogs completely one month ago and have been vaping for 2 months. I don't know if this is a side effect of vaping or from not smoking. I'm going to look into this oil pulling thing. It's worth a shot, if the benefits are what people say.

Cold sores do happen when your early In vaping. The moisture and pg/ vg has something to do with it initially and that also causes vapors tounge . Tooth pain is a common beginners side effect as well. My tooth pain Subsided after a few months. I can get cold sores still, mainly like if I bite my cheek, by accident, it will be like a cold sore. There is another thing that I believe can cause cold sores. This new nic base going around has caused me to get a lot.

For vapors tounge.. Drinking more water, brushing, spicy foods, and a Sierra mist can help.

Um, Cold Sores are caused by herpes!! That's what you get on/around your lips. Canker sores are the ulcers you get inside your mouth, not caused by herpes!
No one has found exactly what causes canker sores, but in my case I believe it is caused by a small amount of stomach acid reaching my mouth when I get acid reflux. And this only happens if I get heart burn while sleeping

So if you're getting cold sores, you might want to visit your doctor, and not share your e-cig..

Read this thread a few days ago but kept thinking back to it. While there is no certainty, these issues could be a reaction to something in your juice. It would seem to be well worthwhile to purchase a bottle of VG juice to vape for 4-7 days -- to see whether might resolve the issue.

With excellent choices such as Johnson Creek's Domestic, AVE Boba's Bounty, etc. there's little to lose -- and potentially much to gain. I would also suggest avoiding flavors with cinnamon for this test.

Good luck. And please post back any results, positive and negative.

I'd definitely check it out for mouth ulcers and I bet it will work well. It was a very strange concept at first and didn't make a lot of sense as far as how it would remove toxins from your body but after it got rid of the sore throat I kept doing it on a regular basis. It made me light headed the first couple times so I could tell it was definitely doing something (I don't get light headed anymore). I have my whole family doing it now and everybody has been healthy and dental issue-free. There are other oils you can use but if you go with Coconut Oil just make sure you use extra virgin coconut oil. More on that from earth clinic... Oil Pulling: An Ayurvedic Secret for Whole Health!

I'm interested to hear what other people have to say about it being vape related. I'm fairly new to the industry and brand new to the forum.

Oil pulling!!! I second this recommendation and don't know why I don't remember to do it myself. After a full blown PG allergic reaction I've have vapors tongue for several days. Can't taste a thing. If nothing else oil pulling will cause me to stop vaping for 20 minutes. :) Thank you for the reminder.

Off topic but.. I'm a huge proponent of coconut oil . Ate a gallon of it in less than 2 months.. Best shape of my life, 6 pack and all. Will definitely use it for canker sores, its got excellent healing properties, and its one of few true anti-virals. Extremely powerfully on that front for viral infection or shingles virus.

I'm dealing with vapors tounge now, going on day 6, week 4 of vaping. It really sucks because the flavors were satisfying me 100% instead if smoking. Since I can't taste the vape, I'm craving regular cigs like crazy. I've only had one a couple if days ago. I've tried everything....tons if water, tounge brushing, sniffing coffee, smoke menthol, nada. I hope this goes away soon! For you too!!!

While I don't get mouth ulcers, I did get hit with vapor's tongue. I found good old fashion listerine mouthwash, even the cheaper drugstore brands gives your taste buds an overload and clears them out. Give that a try and see if that helps. Not sure how much it would sting with the mouth ulcers, but when I got one it didn't for me.
