I've been vaping for three weeks now. I'm using an e-vic with Kanger MT3's, pro tanks an i-clear 30 and my new AGA T2 that I miraculously got coiled right on my second try after watching many videos. Unfortunately, I now own a rocking rebuildable atomizer that I can't taste.

The problem - my vapors tongue started three days ago. I've read and tried EVERYTHING from switching flavors, plenty of water, brushing, scraping, jalapeños and even raw apple cider vinegar. I've now concluded that nothing will really work but time.....I HOPE!

So my question is....how long can I expect it to last? How long did your's last?

I'll sit back and wait for replies while I inhale giant plumes of flavorless mist in despair.:p

This really depends on individual physiology.... Not something that is the same for everyone. It is also something that happens to all of us .. newbies and e-cig veterans. It really deals with oversensitivity with the taste buds and proper hydration. Most of the time when I get it ... I usually switch out flavors to something that is a dull flavor or even flavorless .. just for a while to help alleviate or give my buds a break. If you normally use a device that gives you a lot of heat value to your vape... You may want to switch out to a cool vapor set-up, as well.. heat has a lot to do with cotton mouth and can affect vapor tongue, as well. I have a cheapo MOD set-up with a LR atomizer that I found vapes at a pretty cool temp with a clearo and I always just leave that set-up with a lite flavor juice that is not too harsh on the buds.
I am a heavy vaper .. So, I can leave all my normal use mods set-up for my fave Heat and desired vapor output... But when the tongue hits its final notes... I can switch over real quick and jump back a little sooner than later.. Anyway, hope this helps!!!

To add to the above mentioned. The sense of smell is closely related to taste. Like when you have a cold and a stuffed up nose, it is hard to taste your food. I get stuffy at night and cant tell peach from watertermelon in the morning. Another thing is that after changing through so many flaves in one day, the residue scent sort of gets into my sinuses. It hangs on for a while, my taste discrimination becomes, well complicated. I guess I am meaning to suggest that it might not allways be your tongue it might be your nose.

mines been going on for almost a year...just recently started thinking maybe its the delivery system....what would give me a cooler vape...my tongue is not only tasting flavor but has that "burned it on hot pizza" feeling, just never occurred to me until reading this. I chain vape a ce5:p

Depends on the equipment you use as far as cooler vapor delivery..... If you are using a standard battery set-up.... avoid LR atties because they change the resistance through the coil which delivers more heat to your vape. Best method to take this a little further, Get a tank system with a bottom coil set-up ( evod, Kanger Pro-tank, ex. etc) and this will allow for cooler vape due to more air travel before the vapor reaches the mouth. This is also why a lot of folks on ECF have been saying that the bottom coil tanks seem to be a real "airy" draw.

If you are vaping using a VV or VW MOD... remember lower resistance coils with higher voltage / wattage = equals hot draws. I always try to balance and equalize this during tired tongue by veering from my usual.... 0.8 to 1.8 ohm coil @ 4.4 to 5.2 volts is my usual zone and I am a very heavy vaper..... say 4 to 5 tank fills a day ( roughly 10 mls +). I also vape quite a bit with 0 nic so don't be too alarmed.
Just try to back off for a while evry now and then should the tongue start complaining about overtime. Say.. 2.2-2.4 coil @ 4 -4.4 volts.

Hope this helps

I use ego batteries....I was just looking at some bottom coil clearos and ordered a couple. just one of those things I didn't even think about, but now that im off work for them summer(work at school) its more noticeable and annoying LOL thx for the recommendation :)

Dammit. I have tried changing flavors I can't taste a thing. I am vaping a protank with a 1.8 coil and set at 3.4 volts. How hot could that possibly be it? My tongue feels burnt and I noticed some redness near the end. Make matters worse I don't vape that much to start with and if I was to cut back I would not be vaping at all. I only fill my mini protank at the start of this weekend and it is just now nearing empty LOL.
