Well, the coils can actually last an absurdly long time if you dry burn it periodically. It's the wicks that would probably give out first.

I would say about 2 to 3 weeks before the silica gets too gunked up and the heat from dry burning can't get rid of it. Or your wick may even start fraying before that. It also depends on the voltage level you vape at and the type of juice.

Don't worry too much about it in the beginning. If the vapor/flavor/throat hit starts to fall, then you'll know it's time to either dry burn or change your head.

My wife uses a heavy dark high vg tobacco liquid. She goes about 4-5 days or so before it all gets gunked. That dark juice really does a number on the wicks. They are mostly shot, but I dutifully clean them in very hot water everclear or vodka...but without much success. Dry burning her coils brings a danger of setting off the smoke alarms.

I use mostly unflavored high pg 70/30 liquid. I go 6-7 days and my wicks are easy to clean and quickly dry burn for another go. So I usually get 2-3 weeks out of mine.

We both go thru 2-3 refills per day, so it really depend on the liquid.

I have only started to experiment with re-wicking...I suspect that the coils would last quite a bit longer...it's the wicks that don't last.
