Man ... that really looks like plasti-dip. I'm OCD, I'd scrub it clean. :)

Kinda wish they offered it without the rubber coating...the finish under it is pretty nice. Note my mod did not peel this extremely on its own. i took a blue scotch brite pad to it. It is not easy to get off as it flakes and doesn't peel off.

I'm using dual 2.5mm 10 wrap titanium build reading at .20 ohms at 55w 400 F and 80w preheat. Battery last me all day with around 10-15% left when i go to bed. i charge it when i wake up and its full in around an hour. for me its close to the battery life i was getting from the sx mini m class with a single samsung 25r.
Nice, that's not bad at all. Although I've never had a single 18650 get me through the day with my SX M, LOL, maybe I vape too much.
Yes.

Not necessarily, some people I'm sure will get sent a Nano coated one who maybe did not pay for it. I don't believe the 10 a day Nano coating story. It is cheaper to do more in bulk to have them ready to go and it is possible that someone could get one who did not pay for it because it is what was grabbed or handy or what they have more of in stock because people are not paying for it. It sure does look like an extra top coat like the "nano" coating that is peeling in all these pictures.

So more or less.... they make extra money of those who pay for it and some get it for free who don't ask because a majority of units could be pre-made with the coating. If they get the extra money great, if not "ooooh you got free Nano coating by mistake".

JUST A THEORY...
Haha I guess that is possible since the nano coating is invisible, I was thinking possibly the vaccuum used to apply it was causing the rubber to crack until HopHead showed his peeling without the coating. I also find it hard to believe they can only do 10 a day... Im order 83XX, even if just 10% got the coating that would take 80 days?? I hope not lol

i splashed a little bit of water on my mod to see if i accidentally got a nano coat and the water did not bead up so i don't think it has it. I plan on getting the rubber coating completely off the entire mod except the battery door so it will have a 2 tone finish. it took me around a half hour to get it where it is in the picture so im going to try some things this weekend to get it off hopefully.

AND it is also possible that its a chemical reaction between the "special invisible" coating and the rubberized coatings (who knows really). Sometimes things don't play well together BUT you have to think enough of employees and the buddies of employees of the Vapor Shark family (that has had this mod for weeks) has had to have seen this anomaly before the pics shown her.

Real shame because even if battery life is meh, it is a sexy device.

Exactly, the employees should've noticed but if what that video said was true about the beta units having better paint then maybe they really didn't have any peel yet. Guess we're just gonna have to be extra careful with it because they wanted to save a few bucks

I don't think anyone said they were emotionally scarred not that I read and I didn't either so don't know where you pulled that out of. I was stating my opinion on a product that has some issues. I did think that was what this forum was for discussing issues. Also unless a moderator tell's me to go else where I don't have to. We are all here to learn about a product the last time I checked and if people don't say what the pro and cons are and just keep quiet then how would anyone know?

Unless you have a VS 200 in hand, and it has peeling issues, and you have called VS with little success - your "opinion on a product that has some issues" carries no merit -- it is just an assumption/leap based on prior experience with other VS products or with what has been said here by other people who are complaining. I'd rather hear from folks that have had good (and bad) successes with THIS product from first hand experience. I for one am looking forward to my VS, with or without peeling, and any "opinions" to the contrary should be based on someone who actually has the VS 200.

As has been said before -- if you don't like the product or the service, then don't buy from VS. Many like me are "ok" with service from VS that has some (okay many) issues - but the product is top notch. When I compare it with all of the other threads on VT Box, HCigar 200, etc. -- I would be very happy if the ONLY issue with the VS is some minor peeling.

dude, you really need to calm down and think about the fact that a) you have no idea how many units are peeling. b) you don't actually have a unit. c) you're making claims and calling customer service without first hand experience. i mean, come on now.

why don't you wait till your unit arrives, if you actually ordered one, and then deal with issues as they arise. call customer service if and when those things happen and post about your personal experience. no need to troll just to troll.

you can't ruin the excitement for this guy, i'm super stoked to get mine...whenever it arrives.

ok sorry maybe i was a bit abrupt when i posted that, appolagies. I do have 1 on order, iv actually ordered 2 but one is for a friend, both will have the nano coating. my way of dealing with issues will be exactly as i said, contacting customer service and if they wont resolve the issue then il wrap it myself. iv already got some brushed metal wrap i was going to use on my vapecige before i cancelled it. i can also tell you mine wont be leaving the house until i can get a case for it! iv got 2 other regulated devices and a mech so i wont be short of options of things to use

All is good again and that's all I wanted and there is only so much complaining one can take. I do fully accept that problems are part of the experience and should be discussed but we have already talked at great length about the rubber finish and there's nothing anyone here can do about it. Hopefully vaporshark decide there's something to change in their process but its really all down to individuals sorting their issues with the company or doing something proactive about their issues. We have all had problems and it is upsetting for sure. But I would hate this to turn into another dna is crap thread becasue its no entirely true. It would just be nice to hear more positive things or another area of discussion so others interested can see a more rounded view instead of worrying it will arrive and peel as soon as it touches the air! Everything has its own problems, especially brand new products and the safest way to avoid early issues is wait for a revision or two to happen and wait a month or two after release when those brave enough to take the early ones have voiced their opinions and the company decide to change something. That is sound advice for any product and try not to let the shineytitus take hold of you! I don't know if I can put it fairer than that

Decided against opening my VS. The bullet connectors on mine seem to have some solder on them and only way to pull them apart is desoldering them.
The leads are soldered to the bullet but the bullet does come apart. Had to do that with mine before I sent it back. The soldered connections don't seem super strong though, I wouldn't recommend pulling them frequently unless you can do it without pulling on the wire. I think busardo broke one of his.

The balance connector is tight but comes apart with some wiggling. Also the power wires need to be laid carefully either side of the balance connector or the case won't close again. There is not much spare room in there!

I think it's designed for changing when the battery wears out not for frequent swaps.

I agree with you there, while its nice to have access to the insides we don't really need to be poking around.

I do have a question that comes to mind and I'm assuming the answer is no becasue I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but does the vaporshark have wireless charging like the rdna 40? I never use it but just curious

They left it out for the DNA200. I thought it was a great idea in theory but not so good in practice. I love wireless charging on my phone and tablet but it gets too warm for my rDNA40 so I hardly used it. I've been just charging it from the USB port lately rather than swapping batteries out.

On both DNA200's, I'm charging via USB as well but my BRD200 can easily be charged with a lipo charger (1300mah 3s lipo with XT30 connector) but too much hassle when I have a 5 port/8a USB charging hub easily accessible to charge from.

I'd rather hear from folks that

I did have one on pre order but canceled when a few people reported this issues. I did call VS with my concerns on the paint, rubber or whatever they call it and was told they have zero issues with them. I told them I have personally seen them and they still said they had zero issues and they would not refund money if I got one and mine peeled, so I then canceled my order as I will not pay for another product with a company that will not support it. They told me they had zero issues with the RDNA 40 and we have seen that is not the case. And I had one. So they haven't posted anything because they want to make sure everyone keeps buying, but then again Fanboys will eat this sh@t up just to say I have one and I support them. More power to you, guess people don't like to hear something honest. Keep not holding this company responsible and they will never fix anything, they will keep feeding the fanboys and the new person who doesn't know any better.
