Fairly new to vaping I'm getting a fair amount of vapor out of my BBC and a standard eGo battery and am trying to understand the advantages of vv batteries and whether or not a mod would be right. One of the things I like about the standard battery is the size is pocket and feel that moving onto a larger battery or mod casing would sacrifice this attribute.

Looking for some thoughts from those that have moved on to larger batts, or found ways to increase production without increasing size.

So the reality is that you need to determine if the advantages of the bigger battery outweigh the cost is size. VV (and VW) allow you to, effectively, adjust the flavor and vapor production of your juice. If you are happy with your juices, exactly the way they are, then there is no reason to consider upgrading. If however, there is a little something lacking, then perhaps the upgrade is what you need.

Personally, for me, moving up was ideal. I have come to find that there are many subtleties to my juices that I was missing out on. Each one has it's own settings to hit the sweet spot for me. Finding that would have been almost impossible for me using conventional batteries, tanks and juices. Sure, it *can* be done with custom coils and other means of adjusting heat and resistance used, but it's much more difficult and time consuming to get there.

So this is not really an answer, but I HTH!

I like my bigger mods for several reasons

1. VV/VW lets me tune my device to the eliquid - not all eliquids will taste the same at the same wattage (I use wattage mode so I don't need to remember what resistance each atty is at - I just need to remember what wattage works best with the juice I have)

2. The bigger batteries allow me more vape time between charges - I chain vape so 2400mah barely lasts a day

My recommendation for a 1st time mode would be the MVP2.
You don't need to buy separate batteries and chargers.
It will work as a pass thru if it needs to. Has vv and vw and an ohm checker now.
It can charge your phone in emergencies (if you have a usb cable with you of course)
It has both 510 and ego threading so it compatible with 95% of the tanks, clearos, carto's, and RBA's
you can wrap fishing line around the beauty ring in case you get lost in the woods and need to survive (wait, that last one was just plain silly, never mind, where would you keep the hooks?)

Now it is a box shaped mod if shape is a deal breaker (but it does fit shirt pockets better than my long vamo's do) and when the battery has reached it's usable life cycle you will need to replace the entire unit (can't replace the battery)

There are variable voltage eGo batteries that are the same size as your regular eGo battery.

The 900mah vv wouldn't be that much larger than what you have now. The advantage of a vv is in the ability to adjust it to find the "sweet spot" for whatever juice and coil you are using. Every coil is going to measure a little different (regardless of what it says on the box). Some liquid needs just a little more voltage to get to it's sweet spot, some just a little bit less.

I too started with the standard (mine was 900mah) eGo battery and then jumped up to a couple of 1300 vv's. They do stick out a little more in my shirt pocket, but I like the extra vaping time I get.

I also have a Vamo that is not at all pocket friendly.

devauto pointed out some of the benifts to the VV/VW step up in vaping.

Surprised Dakota did not mention the Sigelei Zmax v5........Love the Tardis....


MVP could be agreat option, but the Zmax SS is,
VV/VW, and in 18350 size with a tank, not much taller than an 650 and tank.
May be a wee bit bulkier, but rides ok in pants pocket and sweatshirt pouch.
So far it has behaved like a "Timex Watch"........has taken a licking and kept on ticking....

BBC? I will assume that you meant BCC, and that is a typo and not a Freudian slip.

If you want a very pocket friendly device that gives you all the bells and whistles of a larger mod, check out the Innokin iTatse VV V3. It has variable voltage, variable wattage, an ohm meter, pass-through capability, and even a puff counter. The battery is 800mah, so it gives you a good amount of vape time, although obviously not as much as a big battery mod. Innokin iTaste VV/VW V3

pbusardo does a nice breakdown of all the features here, and even uses a BCC on it in the review....

Thanks All for your insight. I've must admit, although my discontent with juices hasn't been enough for me to even consider relapsing to the burning nasties, I'm constantly wishing more out of the flavors I've chosen.

I'll take a look at the hardware you've suggested.

Off topic, but anyone have a suggestion for a good sweet menthol/mint, non-tobacco?

I also wanted to add that if you want a great tried and true VV experience with ultimate pocket friendliness, nothing beats the 650mah Joyetech eGo-C Twist. The 900mah is also very pocketable, but the size is pushing the limits a little.

I have to second the recommendation of the itaste vv 3.

I have two in my stable and just use one while the other is charging. However, that being said, even if I forgot one at home, the USB pass through allows me to vape while charging. I have a micro USB phone charger plugged in at my desk at work, so I'm always ready to rock and roll.

I simply set my wattage to 6.5 watts and forget it....

I originally began with ego style batteries and I can truthfully say I have not sacrificed size in the least. My mechanical mod and drip atty I currently use is about half the length and only a fraction larger in diameter than what I used to think was "pocket" size setup. On top of that the vapor production of my current setup, although smaller, is…..in my mind…. 500 percent better, taking into account actual vapor production, taste and quality of vapor.


Currently I am using a Astro clone telescopic mod ($30), nimbus clone drip atty ($10), 18650 MNKE 1600mah battery ($15).
