I'm not sure if this is what you’re looking for, however I posted it anyway.

It’s the oldest thread I could find that mentions variable voltage.

i would have to disagree on the variable factor leaford.. some poor ones might seem to work this way but i think they are intended to be simple on off switches..

a good one works will very little suck.. a less than good one dosnt.. it kinda make poor contact without the hard suck and appears to be variable.. they would need some kinda of variable resistor to produce genuinely variable voltage.. what u are seeing is simply poor switch contact from a gentle suck..

a manual simply saves wasted suck.. heated up the liquid then suck.. the auto takes a couple of seconds of wasted sucking while the atomizer heats up..

a manual should be more reliable.. and give more consistent results.. having said that the pressure switches in my e-cig pipes work superbly with the gentlest of sucks.. the pressure switches in my e-cig minis are rubbish and need a hard suck to come on properly.. a gentle suck produce intermittent switch contact.. it aint (clever) variable simply a crap pressure switch..

pressure switches are one of the things that make a break the device.. a simple manual on off switch removes the inconsistency of less than stellar pressure switches..

The following is not an ECF post, however it is relevant to the discussion in that its a patent application from 2007 which describes a PV in quite a lot of detail, including the microprocessor controlling the battery, etc. etc.

United States Patent Application: 0080257367

The link is to the USPTO. Notice that this patent also has not been awarded yet and was applied for more than 4 years ago.

Since I was wanting to edit my OP and the 48 hour period to edit had expired, I will ammend it here:

The ECF, and included forums available for use, make up a big place and the freely given post(s) throughout may be interpeted differently than the poster's intended meaning, and as other members may take exception and/or be offended, I want to go on record for all to see:

Any and all post and Personal Messages I make, or have made are intended to express only my personal opinion, my thoughts, my questions, and etc. Should any member feel that any of my posts or personal messages were unwarranted, offensive, slanderous or libelous, I hereby go on record officially retracting them. To my knowledge, this has not occured but I want this statement ammended to this OP as a matter of record.
