Hi I just noticed that the Sony vc4 inside my mech has started to sort of wobble around so I guessed that it must be the battery. To me it kind of looks like the top pin has been slightly pushed in somehow. What do you people think?

Telescoping mech?
It looks like you might be squeezing the battery a little too tightly against the pos. pin which can cause this.
I speak from experience

Would It be safe to pull the pin back out with a twezeer etc?

I really can't tell from your picture what it looks like, but I'll take your word for it that it's pushed in a bit.

Do not try to pull it back out with tweezers. It won't work and you could short the battery, or damage it another way. Here's a diagram of how batteries are made. That is for a protected cell, but they are all the same on the positive end.

Under that positive end cap there is the PTC and pressure valve. If you damage those at the least you've lost a lot of battery protection for when things go wrong. I would not mess with that area of the battery. I would recycle it and consider it a lesson learned.

I agree, it looks like your mod is putting to much pressure on the battery. If your mod is telescopic you are over tightening it. If yo have a tube mod you need to back off what ever adjusment you have that controlls battery wobble. I did the same thing to a battery a few months ago and it is fine. Asumming you have some type of adjustable or floatin pos pin you shoul realy loosen or remove your bottom cap when installing a new topper then tighten back down just till battery rattle goes away. Snug is good tight is bad.
