The rocket is an inferior clone, it's air passage ways are smaller and the tolerances are way off. I bought one after receiving the Russian. Was sadly disappointed. Did drill out the air intake, and it vaped almost as good as the real thing, but inferior quality and sits in a drawer some where.

You are spoiled now too, so rocket has lost that loving vaping.. Find a drawer of abandoned vape gear, heck make great pif gifts, birthdays, holidays,... lol

Is there any thing special I gotta do to drill it ?
Do you think 1//16 drill bit is okay? Is that to big or too small in defenitly going to look at getting me a better kayfun as I get my cheese together thank

it's pretty easy, just remove the air screw and bore out the intake and the air screw hole. You'll see that the two intersect. I used a 1/16" drill bit, left enough threads to still use the air screw. I also drilled out the drip tip, couldn't change out the dt on the rocket, and it's draw was restrictive. Drilled it out to the same diameter as all my other drip tips. I had the first rocket, and also whistled "I am Walrus" when vaped before drilling out the airways. lmao. Got it close to vape as good as the real deal, but was a pain to build because of lack of quality. Think it's SS plated Brass too.

Awesome bro welcome aboard!

How long have you been floatin out there with your verticals.

You, like me, have found the holy grail of the "rebuildable carto".

I loved the flavor from cartos but couldn't justify buying them.

I would say 4 to 5 months? It was pretty much the second build I tried on my kayfun, and I always had a couple with the vertical build in it.

I find that when I pack in more cotton around the coil and make sure it's always saturated, vertical coils just give a far denser and "wetter" vape that I'm a huge fan of.

This is how mine typically looks like when wicked. I know alotta people comment about how using less cotton is more but ah, never had a single dry hit even with Boba's bounty on

Nicely done and welcome to the Vulcan Warp Core thread. lol

Yeah this thread actually got it's start in the Nano Dragon build Thread, which got started off the Micro Coil thread. Can find info there also, if you have a month or two of reading time. lol

Can't believe you guys are still using cotton though, Hemp and now Ramie has stolen my Vape heart. Superior wicking, life expectancy, and more heat tolerant. Just saying. lol

Tried hemp, and it just wasn't my thing. Cotton is just too easy to beat into submission :D

Yeah, each fiber does have it's own properties, characteristics and learning curve. With Hemp, one uses more mass than cotton, it's hard to choke off, and retains more juice. Ramie fiber took me the longest to get to know. Didn't figure it out till I built the Rose2. Then it came all together, now in the process of switching everything to Ramie as my tanks run dry. The main thing I like about both hemp and ramie is the superior life expectancy, both last much longer than cotton. But in like in all things Vape, what ever works best for you is best thing to use.

Vape long and Prosper!!

P.S.: the cat bites!

send it to me I'll slap it into submission for ya, lmao. Heck I'll even give you a rocket V1 lol. My recommendation is either go to Salt Lake Vapors and get an Authentic 91% or full Russian. $90 or $95 for either. Or get the Hcigar or EHPro clone at 101Vape.

If it was me, I'd get the real deal at S.L.Vapors. Hang on, that is where I bought my first rba, that happened to be the Russian. The rocket I purchased after, in hopes it would be as nice, sadly learned that clones often suck. lol SLVapors do ship fast, They increased their inventory since I last visited. The Russian was the only rba they carried 9 months ago.

Isn't the Ramie bad in terms of chemicals and such? Anyway koh gen do is the way to go now according to cotton lovers.

Hey aalwani, I find it wicks well to the coil. I no longer use the original core wrap I used to do. With hemp info more of a slight pack with wick strands going out. Many times I go to light on the hemp, it collapses a little and loosens from the coil. Causing a dry hit or slightly burnt taste.. I open it up nudge the wicking towards the coil and add bits/tufts around the outside to keep it against the coil. Sometimes I have to do this twice on my oddy builds once its set I'm good for a few weeks of adv. Too tight I taste wicking. A light even contact around the coil produces best performance.

A wet dense vape described by inofat occurs best for me when you have enogh of a carto filler type reserve, and your wicking has swelled to a nice pillow type contact around the coil with out being too tight. Too tight chokes of the wicking direct around the coil.

The Woolery Site said:
RAMIE TOP
Sometimes called "china grass" or "china linen"; it is white, very lustrous, and looks much like white silk. Good for blending with wool. Ramie is rot resistant and heat proof and is thus excellent for table runners, placemats, etc.

appears to be organic fiber, don't know where any chemicals would be derived from. What the frak is koh gen do, did a bling search and came up with cosmetics. Ramie has been wicking quite excellent for me, really like working with the stuff. Have the Rose2 with an 0.2 ohm build, ramie wicked, and it is up to the task. I only used cotton for about 5 balls worth, if that, then moved to hemp, now most my rba's have gone the way of the Ramie.

dice I am not sure about the chemicals so don't take my word for it but i could have sworn i saw something a long time ago in the micro coil thread about having been bleached or chemicals.

Regarding Koh Gen Do it is from cosmetics. It is a japanese pure cotton that is untreated, unbleached etc... it has long fibers and without any taste and wicks excellent according to the guys. I havent tried it yet since i am not able to get it in Greece with affordable shipping.

OIC, thanks for that aal. I did pretreat my ramie, boiling in a water VG solution, for 1/2 hour or so, all I can say is it vapes great form the start, and just gets better after a tank or so, once everything is well saturated. Vapes really clean, no wick taste at all, and the flow control on it is just outstanding. JC becomes fully functional with immediate results when opening it up a tad, with atty's that have that ability. Almost inspires me to dust of the Terminator-C and build it again. Sucker holds like 6 mls but breaths through to 510 stem, which I simply can't tolerate any more. Hmm.

As I uNderstand it is degummed with chemicals then processed/washed. Never tried it but sounds interesting.

Edit to add-
I saw your flashe thread.. That ramie looks really really similar to the rayon I was using, posted in beginning of this thread. I wonder if the end product is actually a form of rayon.

What don't you like about 510 air, is it just that it's restricted or that it can leak there.. Just wondering because all I have is the oddy.. It's my one and only rba. Still considering the flashe or kayfun clones some day..

Here's some Rami next to a bag of hemp fiber that's been Uber Cleaned. And yes the rayon and ramie look quite similar.

The things I don't like with 510 air is the lack of air control, lack of air, and that it can leak onto the top of the 510 connection. It's like makes as much sense as running your air intake through your gas tank. Just a clumsy and unnecessary configuration. That's the only reason I haven't purchased a SQuape, authentic or clone. Like most everything about it but that. Tis a deal breaker now for me, tis why I haven't touched the Term-C for months now. Not worth the hassle when there are so many better options, Like the Rose, Aqua, flashi, Taifun, Kayfun, Russian, heck even the changeable atty's are going with the side air intakes now. Just one of my things when shopping for a new rba, must have side air, adjustable, come in full metal jacket option, bottom coil set up, and able to be vaped at 30 watts minimum. Juice control is an added bonus, and usually makes me click "Buy Now" if it's a quality product, and meets all my requirements. I have no problem justifying $200 for an rba, if it's the right one, or 2. lol Just wish Max would get his Azz here, tired of waiting. lmao.
