I originally opened this post because I thought it was about batteries.

But this is way scarier

this was taken directly from the website

The Vaportini provides a revolutionary way of consuming alcohol. It is inhaled rather than swallowed. It is smooth and flavorful, the subtleties of the individual spirits are apparent. It is absorbed directly into the bloodstream and does not go through the digestive tract. This has the advantage of almost no calories; no carbs, no impurities and the effects of consuming alcohol are immediately felt, making it easier to responsibly imbibe. Unlike traditional consumption of spirits, Vaportinis give more control, shortly after exhaling all of the effects of the alcohol consumed are felt. In contrast, it takes 20 to 30 minutes to feel the full effects of spirits that are swallowed.

Drunker, quicker, and with less alcohol - this info needs to sent to the government right away to be banned before they lose any alcohol tax dollars!!!!

How do you calculate how much alcohol is taken into the blood stream? Couldn't find anything there on their site. That is the scary part. Same thing happens when kids show up at the ER with alcohol soaked tampons with alcohol poisoning. No way to detect how drunk a person is without a blood test.

In responsible hands, maybe it's an option, but between blackouts, high BAC, and poisoning, not to mention the possibility of said patrons driving..........that's frightening. Seriously.

One other thought I had after reading the vaportini site was getting pulled over by the police when I'm seen vaping to determine if I'm consuming alcohol using that method. This provides another reason to get stared at with folks wondering what I'm actually doing.

Yeah, it's all just a little bit more scary as I mull this over.

All the benefits of drinking without having to actually drink? I'm trying to imagine the reasoning behind this but I'm coming up dry.
Might be good for the confirmed alcoholic but I don't think it'll ever replace having a frozen margarita or two with dinner.
Thanks for posting this though.

Not sure how they get all the benefits? They get drunk. I guess that is a benefit. Nothing like racing to the end without enjoying all the fine things along the way.

Nothing is better than a fine cognac and fine cigar. I stick to that.

You couldn't use this while driving. For one, it's heat is generated by a votive candle. It's also all glass with multiple parts that just sit on top of another. This is a trend. Hipsters and the like may get into it. Basically, the only reason I saw it was because it was at a vape shop. Otherwise, I don't think I go to the type of bars that would bust one of these out unless they wanted to get laughed at. But I'm sure there are some junkies out there that heard angels sing when they saw it.

Apparently you didn't actually look at the device or how it works, there is no way this looks ANYTHING like ANY vape gear on the planet, let alone how it works is nothing like our vape gear.

I'm surprised at how many of you are against this. I remember saying I'd never use an electronic cig though too so I'll keep an open mind to this.
The reason they said it's safer is because you feel it instantly which means you can control how much buzz you want. With drinking it you have 20-30 minutes before it's felt so in that 20-30 minutes you keep drinking and over do it.

I don't drink so I won't be having these personally.
