Vermont Vapor - problems?

Howdy, folks.

I have a question. I've been trying to vape Vermont Vapor Maple. Awesome taste, wonderful vapor, but... I can't get the stuff to wick right. It's only good for one hit every half an hour max. I tried the PTB mod - no difference. I tried diluting it a bit with Vodka - by the time it was liquid enough to wick right, it had no throat hit and no flavor.

Does anyone else vape that? Any advice? I love the stuff, but it's kinda frustrating...

I use a 510 manual, btw.

Yeah, I use VG stuff mostly and yes some of the different places don't wick so well. I put a drop or two of distilled water per 3 ml to loosen it up a bit.
I just tried the maple from them and found it to be a bit much for me so I did not use it very much.
I also tryed vodka and everclear and did not like what it did to the flavor so now its just plane distilled water for me.

I noticed that Ecopure wicks fine, and I like how it tastes (though they only have one flavor to speak of - actually their british supplier is carrying non-flavored stuff now so I'll order that and flavor it myself asap), but Innovapor takes forever to deliver, unfortunately, in my experience.

Are there other VG stuff that wicks well? I could really do without the frustration right now...

That Ecopure stuff tasted real bad to me - it was like vaping drano or something very chemical like! Also had a bad order with innovaper (never replaced a promised part) so I won't be buying anything from them anymore.

The Juicy liquid I just got seems to be wicking fine in my 510 and 801. I did cut it with VG and a fue of drops of water. E liquid Planet has VG that wicks good directly out of the bottle.

That's unfortunate. I got my first order from them ok, though it took long. Their shipping seems to be improving, I just got a confirmation that my stuff has been shipped (two days after I ordered), and a nice support email to boot. Just don't buy their new-fangled "new and improved" 510 atomizers - the carts are loose on them.

E liquid Planet has VG that wicks good directly out of the bottle.

That's good to know. I just ordered a bottle of Vanilla (I think) from them. Hope it tastes good.

Oh, well. I guess I'll go clean VV Maple out of my atomizers - I wonder if that flavor has sugar in it or something and that's why it causes me so many problems...

Yeah man, it's hard to suggest flavors... I let a friend try my RY4 and they insisted it tasted like apples! I don't think it taste anything like apples!

I don't know what happened with innovaper, 1-2 emails and I just gave up on them. There's plenty of other suppliers that will be happy to take my money! no big deal...

I mostly use PG in my 510 it just wicks too fast for VG to keep up. I have more success with VG in 401s and 801s (low bridge).

Strange, I just got 3 bottles from VV all from the August 11 batch. They all seem to wick fine for me. Using these in juices in 510's and a screwdriver(901).

What do you do - exactly? I just got another batch of small bottles in. Cherry wicks fine, but it didn't look as thick as the other stuff. Mocha and vanilla, ok but not great. But I can't get maple to wick for anything!

What kind of carts are you using? Mods?

No mods just 901 carts on the 901 and 510 carts on the 510. I have champagne, blackberry, and blueberry. I have not been dripping at all either, I just top the cart off and go. Maybe the maple has something in it. Does it list something different from the other flavors? I also re read your post and it exclusively says maple, something may be different in the formulas.

Yep. It's just the maple. Maybe it's got sugar in it or something. I just wrote to them and asked... It's a shame, really, the flavor is outstanding.

the maple might be clogging it all up also, i would not use there juice friend of mine had the same issues. Stick with a different juice.

I would not rule out all of their juice though, because all the stuff I got is vaping like crazy. I am getting really nice thick plumes of vapor.

did you clean out your atomizer? and start off with a fresh clean cart?
Yeah i agree there flavors are good and vape very good but what i do is always drain and rise and dry and re-reprime all of my atomizers before i start with a new juice. And i use a freshly made re-stuffed cart then i use the new juice.

If there mix has a good amount of VG then yeah you will get plumes of vapor because of the VG that's in there juice.

Since all the gear I have has manual switches(Screwdriver,Adaptever,510's with manual batts) I blow all the excess juice out of the atomizer then I do a burn test holding the button down till I see a nice orange glow. then I apply the new loaded cart. I started all the Vermont vapor juices on newly filled carts, but even with use I can top them off and they work fine.

Just to be clear: it's only the Maple I am having problems with. The other flavors wick fairly well, for VG, and I love them.

But with Maple - yeah, I blew out attys, even gave them an alcohol bath (twice), washed them, dried them, etc. The whole kit and caboodle of a cleaning operation. And I used new carts. No go. Can't get it to wick. It's a shame, like I said, I love that flavor.

I will use VV again - just not Maple. Their cherry and mocha are delicious. Very rich and deep, somewhat subtle, not overwhelming. Vaping it now, in fact. Vanilla - so-so, too weak for me. I am going to order some more sampler size bottles from them to try different flavors.

Another vote from me that the maple is great-tasting but gums up the works very quickly. As to wicking material, I replace all my carts with basic poly-fil material and have had no problems in wicking the maple...it's just so thick and syrupy that it clogs up everything if you use it a lot. Most happy with the champagne flavor from VV. Good taste and mellow; great vapor production. The sweet stuff may be too sweet for me and require a dedicated setup for these. Vanilla is good tasting but as said, not very strong. Will definitely try some other flavors from them and get a full ounce of the champagne to replace my sampler.
