Funny thing. I switched the atomizer out for a spare I bought. Smooth taste, no burning throat and big clouds of vapor... weird. I guess the one I've been using is defective. Functioning as it should, this is very satisfying. I can see myself being successful quitting tobacco this time.

Well, there's your problem: the dreaded "Burnt Atomizer."

It's not the liquid strength, it's the scorched, nasty residue in the atomizer that gives off irritating fumes which burn your throat. It's caused by running the atty too dry and overheating the remaining liquid in the wick.

Hey all-

1st time poster here. I bought a 901 to quit smoking tobacco cigs. I smoke(d) maybe 6-10 cigs per day. Either Camel full flavor, or Bali Shag, which is a european hand-rolling tobacco. Usually the later. Pack of Camel non-filters here and there. So, I am used to smokes that pack a punch. Both in terms of nicotine and how they feel and taste.

For the last 2 days, I have been using the 901 with truevapor's "Turkish" flavor liquid in 36mg. I think I may step down to 24mg with my next purchase.

When I take a drag, the throat hit is almost unbearable. Feels like the back of my throat is being burned, and my lungs are exploding. It's very, very harsh to me. And this is coming from someone who could knock out a pack of non-filters in one night out. I can barely tolerate taking in even a small amount of vapor.

I hate to say anything negative about truevapor's product. Nathan was fast and helpful. Got my order from OR to VA in just a few days. I don't think this is an issue with the juice anyway. I think I may have some kind of sensitivity to the PG in the juice? Anyone else experience this? It's not the concentration of nicotine. I tried the 12mg in a fresh cart and got the same result.

Advice, recommendations appreciated.

Thanks,
Jake

When my girlfriend inhales the vapor she experiences about the same as you describe above, but worse. She's only vaping the 16mg as I vape my 24mg.. but when she inhales, beyond the heavy coughing and burning chest / heartburn feeling, "it feels like burning ripping muscles" inside her chest as she coughs. We are using the Kr8, and the carto is new and full. Happens no matter the flavor- frappacino, apple, RY4..don't matter - only when she inhales. She made me go search for others that may have her issues, in hopes she didn't have some sort of allergy she never knew she had 8-o.

Check your atomizer, and make sure it's not overheating. If it gets red-hot. then your using an atomizer that's not rated for a 6 volt setup. I found this out the hard way! I purchased a 6 volt Copper R2, and some Joye 510 attys from another seller. I was using my R2, only to find that I was getting some really nasty, metallic tasting hits! I pulled the cart off and activated the power. It was then that I noticed the atty was burning red-hot! I put on one of the 510 atty's that I got with the Copper R2, and it's working fine. : - ) I just hope I didn't damage my lungs?

I think that there really does need to be some kind of regulation/oversight concerning these products. At least enough to make sure people aren't getting hurt anyway. I may have just spent the better part of last night inhaling burnt solder? There was no instructions - or warning that came with the Copper R2 concerning using the right atomizer.
Look down inside the atty well... If you can see it burning red-hot - use a different brand of atty! Or go to a 3.7 volt battery... The atty's I got with my R2 Copper work fine. The atty's (red scorpion) I got from DietSmokes will not work with a 6 volt system... 3.7 only. If you're getting a burning sensation - then you're super-heating the atty.

Kingman AZ.
This maybe a couple days late but I'm having the same thing happening to me. Just got my travel kit with the cartos and 902 batts (man.) First cart was the virgina pur flavor ,real harsh, then put on a ry4, same thing. Tried drawing slow, small hit, etc. question I have is, do the cartomisers have primer fluid? I would think not since their prefilled. Almost forgot ...24mg.
Gonna try a couple drops of mint to see what happens....will post about it.

Did you ever find the answer to her problem? My wife has been unable to vape at all, because every time she tries she has serious coughing fits.

Go down to lower nic - even 0 and try then.
I tried a high strength one and nearly blew my lungs out coughing - god knows what strength it was (it was one of those mall stalls that I didnt buy from) and even his 'lower strength' felt too high to me.
The ones i have now are 12mg and I could probably go lower and not be bothered - the TH part of vaping isnt a big deal to me, it maybe something your wife could do without as well.
