Very NEWBIE ... Help Needed Diluting Ejuice

Hello All … Newbie Here, 1^st time post.



Need some help and advice on diluting ejuice. My wife and I have been smoking analogs for 30 years. I was a 2 PAD Regulars and the wife was PAD Lights.



We ordered a variety of 30ml – 18mg nic – 80PG/20VG from Mt. Baker. Wanted to make sure we had Flavor and Throat Hit … the flavor after steeping was great, unfortunately the Throat Hit was too harsh for me, and almost unbearable for my wife.


I've done extensive reading and research till my Head was spinning and my eyes were bleeding, Just like after my first analog smoke 8-o
As I understand it, the PG carries the Flavor and Throat Hit, and the VG carries the Vapor Plume but reduces the flavor and throat hit?



My question is 2 part:

1. If I dilute the ejuice I have with 100% VG to 65PG / 35VG, will that mellow out somewhat the Harsh Throat hit?
   
   And
   
   
2. I've calculated the VG needed to add to the 30ml to make it 65PG/35VG, (one of the few times my math class has paid off), to make it a pure “Volume” 65/35. I would have to add approximately 8ml of VG for a total of 38ml. The thing I don't know for sure, if there are a few other properties in the mix, i.e – H2O, alcohol, whatever … would I back off on the full 8ml?
   

Just for further info for part one, I have a Kanger Evod, 650 MAH, 3.7 volt fixed and 2.4 ohm coil. (trying to keep it simple to start off)

No, you've calculated correctly if your intentions are to mellow the throat hit with the vg. You don't want to add anything else.

you can try a variety of ratios to find the one that works best. there is no need to do the whole 30ml at once

since you're not actually mixing/creating the juice yourself you dont need to account for anything besides the vg you are adding. worst case scenario it doesnt make much of a difference and best case it does...either way nothing tragic will happen as a result since the juice you are diluting is already pre-mixed

Welcome to the forums, I diluted my juice down with some ups humco vg from Wally World in the pharmacy isle. It brings the nic and flavor down. I would find an empty 10mlbottle and put 6.6ml of your 18 nic and 3.3 of vg and you should get around 12 nic. Let it sit for a few and shake it afew times. This should help with both throat hit and getting you slowly down off nic.

Other option is to buy same flavor of juice in 0 or 6 nic and dilute to retain flavor.

Last if you have a twist or vv try turning down the voltage a little to see if it helps.

you can also just add a drop or two of vg into your tank with the juice in it and that should help reduce the throat hit...wouldn't do much more than that as you'll dilute the flavor.

Yes I'm new here as well.I've found that you have to find what works best for you personally, your wife might be different as well. I like a 50/50 mix of vg and pg and that gives me my desired taste and vapor. If you have a multi volt mod you can expire not with different volts for different flavors and find your sweet spot. I just got my multi volt mod and it does make a difference. I'm on a pretty tight budget but found a kamry X6 multi volt,100 mah battery on sale for around 42.00. They run about 49.00. It's a good little mod for people on a budget and the battery lasts a good long time even with heavy vaping and you can try out the multi volt. It works well for someone on a budget like me. But getting a multi volt might also help you out? Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you will get your juice just right. So far I made it 6 days without smoking by vaping! I'd smoked 2 packs a day for 25 years. This is a great place to come for support and help! I think you will really like this fourm! I think it's great that you and your wife are doing this together! My hubby is still smoking in front of me. I bought him his own vaporizer which he uses from time to time but he just won't quit the stinkies!! It is nice you and your wife can support each other through quitting! It will really help having her to do it with you!
