Here is an idea inspired by forcedfuel's video i just watched about the adjustable draw for 801 on his super T.

I just used one of the covers that come with 901 cartridges, cut the end off it with an x-acto knife and punched a hole in it. Slide the ring on the 901 atomizer and voila!

You can move the ring to cover/uncover more or less of the little hole on the 901 to regulate the amount of air coming in. It works!

forcedfuel:

I think it would be a good addition for your 901 version if you make this same ring but out of metal, for the looks?

enjoy.

Just like the vent holes on a charcoal grill too! Easy peasy!

You could probably also take an old atomizer, cut out a ring of it about the same size as you have there and then make a slit in it length wise. That way it will fit over the atomizer and have some spring tension to it...

Yes, you are right!, i will try that tomorrow first thing.
Hope it works for you 2.

Now the challenge as usual is to find a way for the 510.

Nice idea....but why not just cover the hole w/ a finger like a lot of people have been doing? You can adjust the airflow by the amount of pressure you use and not have to do any extra work or modding.

Extra work?
Man, you're lazy, that it why the title is Quick and easy.
It took me 10 minutes to make it, take the pics, reduce them, upload them and type the post.

I don't know if a lot of people have been doing it.
Do you know a lot of people that do?
I guess there was a poll i missed.

In order to cover the hole with a finger, you have to use both hands, (or be able to do a lot of impossible contortion with your fingers), unless you are puffing on an auto battery, which most people in this forum, (including me), stopped doing long ago.

I dare you to do it with only one hand while vaping on an SD

And even when using an auto battery it is not as easy as it may seem, and you would not be able to control air flow with even half as much precision.

Does that make sense?

I'm definitely lazy.....since I would prefer to use the 10 minutes for other things. However, I will concede that when vaping a mod like a SD, it would be difficult (but still doable) to use the finger method. But then again, you didn't specify such in your original post. You would also be correct on the lack of a poll. I've certainly never seen a poll conducted....but then again, covering the hole w/ my finger was not my idea....other original geniuses passed it on to me through their posts. :D As far as the precision of controlling the air flow....:confused:8-o:confused: How do you quantify the precision? If I want to block all air flow, I press firmly over the hole. If want to allow standard airflow, I remove my finger. If I want a restricted airflow, I use varying degrees of pressure/coverage of the hole. I've not measured the airflow in degrees of cfm or such...but then again, why would I want to...I'm lazy and would rather just adjust the airflow with my finger when the mood suits me. :D

As I stated previously...it's a nice idea and I thank you for sharing the idea with the masses...I'm merely stating my personal opinion as to the value of this mod versus the effort. Heck...there's been plenty of times where I've accidentally restricted my airflow through careless placement of my fingers.

But I will go on to state that this mod could be useful for those out there running recessed atomizers in their box mods and such where access to the airflow is behind some type of cover. :)

:lol: sorry, don't take it personal i just love sarcasm, i didn't mean to make things so complicated to the point of having to prove one thing or another by measuring cfms or anything like that.

My idea (far from a creation), is only for those who think it might bring some benefit to their vaping.

And yes, i didn't even think about the box mods with recessed atomizers, but you are right, thank you for expanding the idea. :)

Actually quite a few of us, including me, still use auto batts as well as manuals, I actually prefer the autos, and I have no problem covering the intake hole while using either one. Actually I have more trouble NOT blocking the hole. This def would not be worth the trouble as I have small fingers and can adjust the airflow with adequate precision.

I understand that you still use those batteries, or maybe you have been vaping long before joining the forum, idm. In general, heavy vapers like myself quit using factory batteries after rendering 4-5 of the useless in a short period of time. (for me 2 weeks).

Yes it sure is much easier to do it with small fingers, my wife use to do it till she got tired of it and just doesn't care much about the airflow anymore.
My fingers are just not gonna work with that technique.

And btw, personally i never really cared for controlling air flow, i think it works fine just the way it is, but i have seen a lot of peole talk about it here and as i mentioned up there at the start, it is somethig that popped in my mind while watching forcedfuel's video, so i decided to make it and show it for whoever needs it.

Thank you for sharing your personal experience kelly
