Vegetable Glycerin is used in a variety of applications from beauty & &health products (hair, soap, lotions, lube, laxatives, etc) to food prep (can be used as a sweetener and a thickening agent), can be used as a cure for bad breath, is in some cough syrups, etc etc etc - it's pretty widely used! Do a google search on it and you'll find a lot of uses that might surprise you :)

I'm in Florida also and I get mine at the Publix grocery store. It's in the isle where Tylenol and meds are, and at my store it's on the very top shelf sort of to the left of the section of meds. It's a clear 4 oz. bottle with a white label that has blue writing on it. It also states USP in red on the front label. You can also order it in bulk real cheap online if you google it.

I grabbed an extra bottle from CVS and it was in the hand lotion/skin care aisle. I believe that in Walmarts, I have seen it both in the skin care aisle and the topical medication section. If you are wanting a lot of it, Essential Depot has a gallon of VG right now for $15..real good quality IMO.

Thank you. I know it's used for a lot of things, I meant why would a drug store sell it. What would be the reason a person would go to the store and buy it be.

Here is an image if that helps. If it isn't in the lotion/skin care section or with the band-aid/topicals, you can also check the laxative section. It might be different pharmacy to pharmacy..
