It is conventional wisdom that a higher % of VG reduces the TH, but is it possible that 100% VG base completely mutes the nic?
I received 36mg/ml VG base but whatever ratio of PG/H2O I add I won't get a throat hit. Not even with a high concentrate 28mg 80/15/5 mix (I'm used to 8mg! juices).

The nic base smells slightly different than the pure 0mg VG I got, but I can't quite believe the amount of nic is anywhere near than stated.
Was I just ripped off or does VG 'kill off' the nic somewhat? Looking forward to your experiences with 100% VG nic base.

Don't know where you got it, but assuming it's a repuatable place.........shake it really really really well, then shake it some more. Kurt Kistler, our resident ECF chemist, says that it's harder for nic to bond with vg than for pg. If it's a large amt you could even put it in something and use a milk frother (keep it under the liquid cuz you dont' want bubbles) Wherever you got it should have mixed it well, but that could be an issue. I don't vape high vg so don't know what kind of TH it should give.

you can also get an inexpensive testing kit if you want to make sure of the nic content. Nicotine Test Kit

Thanks to all of you! You guys pretty much confirm what I am thinking.

I shaked it quite well, and for the past 3 days I made tons of different strenght bases with all sorts of VG/PG/H2O & nic ratios, but the results are pretty much all the same. So even if the base had nic hotspots I guess I should have hit one by now lol.
I'll give it another day or so then gonna contact the vendor. It's a European base (directly purchased from the producer) so I don't think it affects too many ppl from ecf, but in anyway I'll be waiting for a response.

Even if it just repeats what others have said, I'd appreciate any 'Never had any issue with VG based nic bases'

I've used both PG and VG based NIC and when properly mixed down to my vaping strength (12mg) I don't notice a difference. My current batch of VG NIC came from RTS. It's true if your mix is VG heavy (80vg/20pg) the throat hit will be less but still you should get throat hit. If your not getting throat when mixing it at 28mg then something's wrong and contacting the vender may be your next step.

Mind sharing which ones you like for th and which ones you don't?

I've purchased 100mg nic from RTS, Wizard labs and Heartlandvapes, all were equally good to me. I paid $50 per liter for 100mg last time around, purchased from RTS using the "price match" feature. Haven't bought any in the past six months or so as I now have more than enough stored at -10F to last - well over - a decade.

EDIT: I would avoid VapersTek nic, if TH is an issue. Pricey but excellent for fruit/bakery mixes as it imparts no "peppery" flavor like most other brands of nic but I found TH was also reduced, for me anyway.

Thanks much! Didn't realize RTS had a price match feature, will check into that when I'm ready to stock up.
