Either my taste buds and smelling capability are shot from my all day vape sessions, but I'm starting to get this corn chip smell and taste when vaping 100% vg liquids. Bought a bottle of Basic brand Menthol Blast last Friday from Cignot at their retail store. Upon getting home, I just had to fill up my 5mL DCT and try it. As soon as I opened the bottle, the smell of corn chips was evident. Thought that maybe my sense were a little jacked up since I quit the stinkies, but as soon as I took a hit, I could taste the corn chip smell in my mouth and nose. Really bummed about this, as I like the Menthol Blast flavor. I grabbed my EMDCC (new, never been used), and filled it with a mixture of Virgin Vapors Peppermint Chill and Menthol Moon Drops. As soon as I took a hit from it, BAM!, corn chip smell and taste again. My question to you fine ECF folks is, are most, if not all VG based eliquids made with a corn based vegetable glycerin? Anyone know of any juice evendors who offer VG that isn't corn based? I really enjoy the vapor production of 100% vg and would hate to have to start using a vg/pg mix. Am I SOL, and do I start making my own vg liquid? Any help woul dbe greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I actually know exactly what you're talking about. My way of describing it is that 100% VG makes everything taste vaguely fried. I don't mind it, but it never occurred to me that it might be a corn base that does it. Just looked it up - looks like it could be palm, soybean, coconut or corn. Huh.
But I am validating you, brother. (Sister?):pop:

Yeah, I too found by doing some research that vg can be made with palm, soybean, coconut, or corn. I'm guessing that most vg producers use a corn base, as it is probably cheaper than those other plant products. I really like the Basic brand e juice flavors, but I am constantly tasting that corn syrupie taste, and it is totally turning me off of their juice. I even let them steep for the last 5 days, and still no difference. Oh well...thankfully have a juice buying addiction, so I have plenty of other brands to keep me going. Thanks for the validation that my taste buds aren't shot!
