ok i ordered some 36mg juice from totally wicked. i plan on cutting it to a lower nic level. my question is, does it matter if i cut with vg or pg? not sure what tw stuff is made with. does it matter if i cut one with the other? thanks -Chris

VG - Vegetable Glycerin is easier to find than PG - Propylene Glycol.

I get my VG from the corner CVS Pharmacy, in the cosmetic skin care department. It will say 99.5% pure USP. If it dosen't say USP don't use it.

I cut my juice 50 / 50 with VG. VG is thick, but gives you loads of vapor. It also has a sweet taste.

PG is thinner. If I need PG, the only place close is a Pharmacy that makes special mixtures. I can't remember the proper name for it. You can find that information in the DIY Liquid section of the forum. I havent tried PG yet, so I can't tell you about it.

Read the DIY Liquid forum for more information. If you get a chance to talk to yvilla, she'll give you some good information.

The sweet taste somewhat depends on what flavor your juice is to begin with. I don't notice it with amaretto or blueberry, but they are somewhat sweet to begin with. Hubby hasn't said anything about the french roast coffee tasting sweet, but he's never had PG only the VG I've mixed for him. Sorry not much help.

thnks guys... how sweet of a taste does the vg give? not sure ill like that.. but anyway.. i guess what im really trying to find out is.. if the stuff im cutting is made with pg, is it a prob if i cut it with vg?

Don't worry about that. People mix X%-liquid + X%VG + X%PG. Check the DIY Liquid section for good percentages. I'm cutting my Vanilla juice, and using about 10% Vanilla extract in the mixture. It has PG and VG in it.

Hey All,
I called around to drug stores looking for food grade Glycerin. Nobody has it except this one drugstore. They said it was in the beauty aids dept, but
didn't know if it was food grade. I think the girl thought I was gonna make some strnge drug cocktail. SWhe said she heard of it used as a laxative. Could this be the Glycerin I'm seeking? It doesn't say food grade according to her. Should I make the drive. I have some 36 mg I would like to cut a little.
Any help for this Newbie would be great.
Thanks,
Dave:cry:

Don't get the stuff for constipation. I too saw this in the OTC drug area at Wal-Mart. It was in powdered form. It is not what we want.
I found Humco Vegetable glycerin U.S.P. grade at Wal-Mart. It was in the Hand care /skin protection section. It is in small clear 6 ounce bottles.
Walmart.com: Humco: Skin Protectant Glycerin Usp, 6 oz: Medicine Cabinet

When my daughter was real young, she had terrible constipation issues. The dr. told me to mix 2 tablespoons of liquid glycerin with apple sauce every day and have her eat it. OMG..Gross! Poor kid, she did it a few times, but could not get it down most of the time.

Glycerin is also used in making bubble solution. If you mix it with dish soap, it makes great, long lasting bubbles.

Try health food stores, they carry 100% pure food grade VG, it says right on the bottle that it can be used as a sweetener.
