I've used it to help with the viscosity in homemade smoothies we make with coffee. I have also used it in homemade liqueurs to give it a smoother feel.

If a person is suffering from halitosis or bad breath, the person should be asked to gargle with glycerin, as it helps in killing the bacteria in the mouth causing bad breath.

Adults or children suffering from nasal congestion can rub a small quantity of glycerin to the nostrils. This helps in clearing the congestion.

Glycerin is one of the ingredients which goes into the making of Nitroglycerin. Nitroglycerin is an important product used to manufacture smokeless gunpowder.

If you have sticky food that is spilled in the refrigerator, you can make use of glycerin to get rid of it. It is a natural solvent and helps in removing spills.

Glycerin is used as a topical medication for yeast and fungal infections, like, psoriasis, eczema, etc.

Glycerin suppositories can alleviate constipation quickly. Unlike laxatives that take overnight to work, glycerin will help release stool within 10 to 15 minutes.
