Can someone give me the pro and cons of these two liquids? I have read some complaints of sore throats and allergic reactions linked to VG.
I would appreciate a breakdown of what each has to offer; throat hit-vapor production-flavor and the like.
When shopping for eliquid I see that these two are split into different categories, So if anyone has a little time today- id sure appreciate a little eliquid 101!
Thanks all!:)

Some people are allergic to PG, some to VG, some can deal with a certain % of either, just not really high % of one or the other.
VG is associated with higher vapor production, some call it lung hit.
PG is associated with higher throat hit.
Pure VG is generally too thick to use, it is cut with pure grain alcohol (which some say contributes to throat hit) or distilled water.
Some say that VG leaves a bit of an oily residue. I believe the water and alcohol help in that area.
Common for people who aren't allergic to either is liquids with around 80% PG, 20% VG, a sweet spot for nice throat hit and vapor production. I'm enjoying some DIY where I increase VG a bit more, but am explicitly then thinning with alcohol and water.
One of them (VG?) tends to damp flavors a bit.

PG is thinner and creates more TH. The more PG, the stronger the TH. Some people are sensitive and even allergic to PG, but it's not very common. I can't vape a high level of PG. I make my own juice and use PG for dilution, so when I test, it's 100% PG and it sometimes makes me sneeze. I've discovered that 60% PG in my juice is about as much as I can take.

VG is what gives you vapor. The more VG, the more vapor produced. VG is thicker and sweeter than PG and it makes for a smoother vape. Because of this, it can mute some flavors. Again, some people can be sensitive or allergic, but it isn't very common.

Having a sore throat is common when you first start vaping. It usually goes away once you adjust. You just need to make sure you're drinking plenty of water because vaping is dehydrating.

100% PG will give great flavor and great Throat Hit but lacks in Vapor Production
100% VG will give you a really smooth vape and usually less throat hit. It also has a tendency to mute some flavors so they do not taste as good. But it will give you MEGA VAPOR PRODUCTION!!

I mix my own juice and find that anywhere from 20-40% VG in my mix gives me better vapor production and does not need to be diluted with water or alcohol. It vapes very nicely.

Conclusion: Everyone's tastes are different. If the 100% PG juices are doing good for you, no need to change. If you want to see what a little more vapor production would be like, order some juice from one of the US vendors that offers a PG/VG mix. I can tell you that Ms T's Bakery Essentials has some of the best juice I have ever tried. It is a mix of PG and VG but is proprietary so she will not say how much of each is in her mixes. Anyway, hope that helps! HAPPY VAPING!!!

If you want to experiment easily, FreedomSmokeUSA offers a variety of PG/VG ratios. I like the TH of PG but I like the fuller vapor with some VG added and it makes it a bit smoother. Straight PG annoyed my tongue a bit. And of course the hand-mixed flavors of the US juice mixers often have a lot more complex flavors. I am currently enjoying 70/30 PG/VG and plan to try 80/20.

Besides the PG/VG ratio, TH is affected by the amount of nicotine (higher nic has more TH) and the flavors (something like cinnamon might have strong TH, peach not so much, tobaccos in the range in between).

No one's mentioned the effect on atomizers, although common sense says if your juice is thicker it's likely to clog your atty faster. :)

I do the less vapor 100% PG because it's less offensive to my kids who complain, "Ewww Moooom, that vapor cloud was in your MOUTH" *sigh* It's also better for stealth vaping at work or other public places. And, I assume I get more life from my atty using it.

I do not know what people are talking about with clogging atty's. Been using 40-50% VG in my mixes for as long as can remember with no atty problems! I also do NOT mix in PGA (Pure Grain Alcohol) or water with my juices.

I don't know which is worse or better or whatever. All I know is that I really like VG. I might like PG just as much but don't know it. But, the only PG juice I've tried is that johnson creek crap that comes in blu pre-filled carts. I don't care too much for throat hit, and the VG gives me enough of one. I just want flavor, vapor, and nicotine. that's what VG gives me. so I vape only 100% VG. It works for me, so I just stick with it.

I haven't gotten a sore throat from vaping either, but I remember when I tried nicorette gum. Apparently I wasn't using it right as someone pointed out later, but I was just chewing it like regular gum. And you know that numb feeling and weird "taste" you get in the back of your mouth and throat when you've smoked way too much? It usually comes from cigars or just smoking too many cigarettes. Well that's what the gum did to me. it made me feel sick, and that's what I get from vaping Blu's pre-filled carts. I don't get that at all except very mildly with VG, and that's only if I do a straight throat inhale. It's not unpleasant like with the PG though.
