VG with water?

Hello,
I started vaping about 2 weeks ago, and i looking to do some DIY e-liquids. I would like to use a VG only liquids, but i read that 100% vg liquids usually reduce the lifespan of the coils because o viscosity. Can i use a sollution of VG + dstiled water + flavor instead of PG + VG mix?

I'm thinking about 50% distiled water 50% VG...

Thanks for the info Ryedan! I'm sorry if it's a silly question but i'm sure if i fully understood what you mean by "mixing at 60% VG". If you are using 60% VG with 4% DW, what are you using on the other 36%?

At the time all i got is a 50mg/ml nic base on VG, a bottle of VG and 3 TPA essences (Blueberry (extra), Coffe and Menthol all dilutted on PG as far as i know)... I was wondering if i can make some good juices from it without more PG...

Thanks in advance!

You're welcome edim. My juice is 60% VG, 36% PG and 4% DW. My nicotine base is in VG and my flavorings are in PG. The nic and actual flavorant take away from some of the VG and PG so my juice is probably around 58% VG and 34% PG, but that is understood.

You certainly can make good juice with the ingredients you have. VG makes a lot more vapor than PG, is a bit sweeter and doesn't carry flavor as well as PG. Some people do not use any PG in their juice.

I experiment with 5 ml batches and don't add nic until I have the flavor about right. Don't add too much flavor, you can always add more later. If you add too much flavor the juice can actually have less flavor. I use between 1% and 15% flavorings depending on the flavors.

Hoosier has some great blogs on mixing juice. There's also the DIY section here.

Good luck with it!

VG has no impact on coil life, it does have impact on ones wicking skills. Since it is thicker, one needs to be able to not only build well, but wick well also. Different fibers have different properties, but once done right, have Vaped some build for months with only filling the tank daily.

Some flavors, dark and in high sugar content also impact the build. They will gunk up faster, creating a caramel shell coating around the coils.

I mix at 70-80% VG, and at 43-95 watts. I do like to use 3% Vodka, pga, or scotch in my recipes. Not only helps felicitate mixing, thins it a tad, also adding some snap to many creations.

I use pg based nic, and since most flavor extracts are pg, many of my recipes require little or no pg.
