Um this may be a stupid post but i was just curious about a few things i have noticed.

I have been vaping and analog free for exactly 7 days now and i noticed quite a few changes (all positive) and a few tobacco cessation side effects (headaches, insomia, etc).

Now, i have always been a fairly fit/active guy but while i was a smoker, i never really had any pronounced veins visible on my body. Now that i quit analogs, im like a freaking NYC road map. I have these disgusting green veins popping up all over my body. Both my arms are covered from my hands to my shoulders, my chest, my obliques, my legs, they are everywhere.

Now before someone tells me that this is due to better circulation, i was under the assumption that nicotine plays the predominent role in circulation. Im still getting 18mg of nicotine from my vape from about 1.5ml of e-juice a day. I used to be a half a PAD smoker so i dont think there should be too much change in my circulation.

Is anyone knowledgable about this that can maybe school me on this? I would like to think that i have better circulation, but something in the back of my head told me to ask here first before i write this issue off as a normal side effect. Could it be possible that my blood pressure is out of whack causing my veiny situation.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

TIA,
-Zeeshaun

If your fear is blood pressure, you can check that easy enough. As for better circulation...well there is a lot of truth in that. 1 aspect of smoking ciggies (no matter how many) is that the carbon monoxide that you inhale in the smoke attaches to the red blood cells at the exact receptors that oxygen does. Therefore, your blood is less oxygenized. When you stop smoking all goes back to normal and all those blood cells are carrying much more oxygen through your body...so in a sense your blood circulation is increasing...or more to the point the oxygen circulation is increasing....

Now your curiosity of blood pressure increasing is a valid concern....just by going through the withdrawal symptoms you attest to puts strain on your body causing stress....as we all know there is a positive correlation between increased blood pressure and stress. You have been ciggie free for 7 days...that is awesome....there are so many chemicals that your body has to detox from after quitting and that could cause an increase in bp if the stress is high enough.

When in doubt, please consult your doctor.

I think this could also be from the less CO/CO2 in your blood streem and more O2 and NO(Nitrous Oxide) which makes your veins appear more prominent. They also have NO boosters that do the same thing(From GNC and other body building stores)

Also, if you are eating better(more protien rich foods) this will also increase the NO content in your blood stream resulting in better blood flow and more prominent vascularity.

But I am not a Doctor :)

though a doctors visit is in order for anything a person is concerned about being that short can cause panick and is a little inflammatory. The only thing I wanted to add is that home BP kits are wildly inaccurate most of the time and your BP should be checked in the dr's office.

My veins are more pronounced and I have been tracking my BP since quitting with my Dr and have seen a markable decrease. Thats me though and everyone is different.

Went to my University clinic today. My BP was 115/80...right on the money. I do however, have always lived an active lifestyle...Lifting weights, running, basketball, etc...with that i also have been taking a couple of supplements (protein/pre-workout) for a few years. Most notably, my Jack3D and my normal protein. I know my Jack3D has ample amounts of Arginine in it that really helps in the vasodilation of my circulatory system so maybe that has something to do with it since i never quit my supplements after i quit smoking. My veins are still protruding out of my skin everywhere and the doctors at schoo, see no ill effects in my body, Iv been given a clean bill of health. So i dont know, maybe the lack of analogs, continued use of spupplements (i cycle every 8-10 weeks), and the Texas sun/heat on my body is having these effects. Beats me...as long as i dont drop dead.

Hey Zees. Oddlly enough i was going to comment the other day that fitness people and bodybuilders love the veiny look. Indicating low body fat and generally larger veins to support blood supply for activity. I was going to ask if you took any protein or pre workout supplements. For sure the aginine would have an impact :)
