When I first started vaping someone told me to fill a 5 ml bottle with liquid and then don't use any other bottle except that one (so pick a good flavor) and then you can see how much juice you go through in a day. In my experience, I add about 0.5 ml to that number to make darn sure I don't run out. If you want to get REAL technical, I guess you could measure how much was left in a syringe and then you would have more exact numbers, but I just sort of eyeballed it because back then I didn't have a syringe.

Awesome job giving up analogs! That's the hardest part, imo. I do agree with everyone else though that analogs start tasting really foul after you've been away from them for a long while. I think its even more noticeable with Annette's non-tobacco flavored juices. I almost fell off the wagon last night because my very last atty that worked correctly ended up dying on me. The juice started just leaking out of the bottom so I bought a pack of analogs and did the walk of shame onto the porch (freezing cold last night btw) lit my analog and about gagged. I promptly put it out and just endured the evening until I could get to the local e-cig store to buy a new atty bright and early this morning. I might have gone through with it if I was still vaping my tobacco juice. Big difference between maple french toast and an analog though! Scared me straight, I tell ya. lol

Running Wolf - I'm worried about doing what you just did, especially with Annette taking a well deserved vacation over the Holidays. I'm trying to figure out how much to order, but being a newbie I tend to grossly miscalculate lol.

Part of mine too is newbe ignorance. Looking for a vendor and flavors that I would like and not taking into account some lead time.

Might take the advice one step further. I know someone here, on one of the forums said that s/he will get a sample bottle of a flavor they haven't tried before when they order their regular juice. Sample packs are generally cheap enough to make it worth while getting one of those for each "keeper" juice ordered.

I'm thinking of keeping two of my Mistic cartridges (gas station e-cig. I'm gonna fill up some cartridges and give to a friend of mine so he can try to switch to vaping) so in case anything hardware related breaks down I can go spend $15 of a battery and a charger and not go analog.

I think park of the reason I went analog was wanting to see how bad they are and being cheesed off at Blu (the carts will fit my Ego) and the place I get the Mistic carts boned me when I got gas..... $74 bucks on hold in my bank account for like 6 days. With hind site should have swallowed my price and gone with the carts.

It seems a good time to mention this, due to the last few "horror story" posts!
Have a backup plan. Buy a spare for everything! Do you have a way of charging your battery, or getting by without a battery in case of failure (USB passthrough) ? Having spare carts/tanks filled with juice don't do much good if you don't have juice in the battery.

Excellent tip, Rootwhacker! I might add to that a spare doesn't do you any good unless it's with you! Being a gal with, of course, a fabulous purse, I keep several special zipper compartments for emergency atties/cartos/batteries/liquids just in case all else fails. Your car/work/significant other's apartment also does the trick. Don't get caught out in the rain!

That's wonderful advice. It takes some time to get some good back up stashes built when you are first starting out, but if you order samples of juice when you place your regular juice orders or if you throw in an atty every time you stock up on juice or an extra battery every now and again, then you'll find your back up stash just seems to grow in no time. Then you can start adding some of that stash to a ziplock bag in your purse or backpack or maybe another ziplock bag in the glove box of the car. Maybe add a car charger adapter to your car stash eventually.

I was an idiot this last time and ordered several attys all from the same company without bothering to try their attys first. Back ups are awesome when they work, not so much when they don't lol I ordered a few all at once and well I'll just say, I won't do that again lol Best to order one atty from a few different places than all from just one company until you know for certain that you like the attys sold somewhere, then you can stock up. I thought all attys were the same, boy was I wrong on that. Now I have some attys, some CE2's and pretty soon I'll have some Boge 2.0 cartos too. I'm hoping that having different kinds of things around will be helpful. Today's experiment is to find out how many CE2's I go through in a day so that I know how many to fill up for tomorrow :)

The 510 refers to the threading on the end that screws into the battery so if you have a 510 battery, then you will need to go with a 510 atty in order for it to match. I believe the 306 refers to a different type of threading so you would need a different battery that has 306 threading on it to match. At least, I think that is the case. All of my equipment is 510 threaded so I'm just assuming that the number 306 refers to a different type of threading.

I have found that the standard Joye 510 attys work well for dripping. Of the two attys I've tried, I did find that the Joye 510 ones last longer than the other ones I tried. I have heard good things about Boge attys although I have never tried those yet. There are a couple of other companies that have been mentioned, but I can't for the life of me remember what they were right off hand. Annette carries some attys and I was going to throw one in my cart with my next juice order. I'm not sure what brand they are though so maybe someone can shed some light on that. The big thing about dripping though is never, ever, do this with an automatic battery.

Serenity, the 510 attys I carry are Kemeier, the same company that makes the KGO. I like their stuff because it's obviously really well made. I had another brand of 510 attys before and I can't tell you how many were DOA. Haven't had a bad one out of the bunch yet on the Kemeier. I love the pink ones, LOL!

Oh cool deal, definitely a good idea to throw one of those in my cart then :)

There are some links running around the forum for how to remove the bridge of your atty, but I've been too afraid of trying it. I'm not very good with mechanical type stuff so I don't have a lot of tools lurking about my apartment. I've also been afraid that I'd break the whole darn thing, which would totally defeat the purpose. lol I suppose I could practice on a dead atty and then there would be no fear of ruining it. Seems I have a few of those lying around now lol

Since I have smoked for 39 years, and used cigarettes (I don't drink alcohol) to deal with every emotional up and down in my life, quitting smoking is going to require learning some new coping skills for me. I made it 4 full 24 hours without a ciggie and have shown myself that vaping is a way for me to completely quit analogs.
I am choosing to go back to my morning and evening ciggie until after the Holidays. This is not because I am weak but because I am afraid.
The Holidays have moments laden with grief for me, having lost my father, grandfather and grandmother during this time period and to be perfectly honest I am very unsure whether I know how to fully deal with grief without resorting to a cigarette.

Leave or delete--whatever YOU feel comfortable with. I certainly can understand why you're not ready to give up the analogs yet! I've been smoking for 40 years and it's my favorite coping mechanism, too. Stressed? Smoke! We'll both manage to get that switched over to Stressed? Vape! instead. It'll take some time. You're doing good.

Larkfour, I hope you feel safe here. There are so many loving people here who are here to support and not judge you. I understand your fear of this time of year that brings back your grief, having gone through something similar myself. Be gentle with yourself! Our hearts are with you!

I think you should do whatever you feel comfortable with. This is a very major change you are making in your life so go easy on yourself. You're doing great! We all have our own learning curves and the journey is unique for everyone. There is absolutely no judgement here :)

You are doing great Larkfour. I was afraid for quite a while to give up my morning and evening cigarettes - especially my morning ones. Then I started using a higher mg nic for a couple of hours in the morning. From what I can remember, the first 4 days without my morning cigarette were the hardest. But as all the previous posters have said, the journey is unique for everyone. You will find something your are comfortable with and I'm sure you will ultimately reach your goal of being analog free.

Please leave it, and know you're not alone. I lost my mother to lung cancer 8 years ago at Thanksgiving, and my husband to cancer-of-the-everything 6 years ago. I know the grief that bubbles up again at the holidays. I haven't put up a tree since hubs died. Too hard. Hurts too much. At the same time, I am sooooo grateful for the 13 Christmases we had together.

Hang in there, baby.

(((((hugs))))
