I would have posted this in Canada forum, but as a new member I can't. Hence, this is my first post here. :p
I've only ever ordered once from the US(, Zeus ejuice) order came in fine. Now I ordered a small order from VV and Mt baker today, Vv got back to me and said they had to cancel my order and give me a refund because of Canada's regulations. I guess I always thought it was an iffy thing to order, but was aloud in ways. I don't know, I haven't followed all that stuff, and when I google it, it's just overwhelming amount of results for me.

So can anyone tell me if anything has changed with Canada's regulations or customs in the last 2-3 months?

Also does Vv just care more about there reputation and customers, and don't want to take the risk of me not getting my order, or are they just being extremely careful!?:?:

Nothing has changed - Canadian customs is as spastic as ever regarding e-cig policies and a lot of US vendors have simply given up.trying. It's always been a guessing game as to what may get in ok and from which supplier - depending on the whim of Customs on any given day. Combine that with some customers demanding that an order be replaced if customs has already seized it the first time... it just becomes unrealistic to try and service the customers in Countries that have a customs problem with e-cigs.

I hope you read Mt. Baker's policy on international shipping. They will do it, but claim zero liability once the package leaves the US border.

It has nothing to do with VV protecting their reputation, it has everything to do with Canada customs inconsistent policies regarding seizing e-cig merchandise - be it liquids or hardware.

Couple of thoughts for my fellow Canadians....

Firstly, Canada's policies haven't changed.

Customs is hit or miss with juice - technically nic content over 4 mg makes it an unapproved drug. Most get through with no incident, some do not and vendors are adjusting their policies based on an evolving history with that capricious nature. The typical outcome of a seized order is to resend it and hope it gets through on the second go, which is an additional cost to the vendor. It's logical enough that some of them decide to curtail shipping to our fair nation as a result, should they get dinged in this merry go round a few times.

Given this roulette wheel, it's prolly best to get your liquid from a Canadian vendor. Jugheads.co is an excellent juice maker (based in Alberta) with a worldwide reputation - they have hundreds of flavours to choose from. If you really, really want MBV, Dash Vapes (in Ontario) redistributes it as well as Alien Visions products (Boba's, anyone?). There are a lot of others - we have a thriving juice scene. Check out the vaporchase channel on YouTube for some good video reviews of Canadian juice vendors.

As for hardware, I've never had any issues at all, and I would estimate the number of international packages sent to me to be in the 30's. No seizure. No duty. No questions. We're talking 15+ mods, 20+ RBA's, kanthal wire, drip tips, etc - everything except batteries (another touchy subject with customs - Dash Vapes is, again, your outlet there). These have been sent by 6+ different vendors and about the same number of individuals (classifieds purchases). Note that none of these packages contained any juice.

I may have been extraordinarily lucky, I suppose, but it's worked for me consistently for the last 18 months.

Do you folks have any connections in the U.S. ie friends, family, business contacts? It may be that you need to use a third party to get your items into Canada via Post office. You could place your order and have it sent to the third party to repackage and readdress with them as sender. Then send it to you as it it were a gift from the States. I know this might not work any better than getting direct mail from the Vape shops but might be worth a try. Good Luck!

It does seem that Customs is cracking down on vape mail. There's even a recent instance of an order being sent back to FastTech, even though there was no juice in the order.

Generally, it's a crap shoot if you order outside Canada. In the past, most items (even juice) make it through just fine. But understand that there's always that chance that they'll inspect the parcel and send it back if it contains e-liquid. Because of this, some US companies are no longer offering shipping to Canada.

Hmm, what is AV? Like I've heard before, and it is very good advice. Don't order any more then you are ok with losing. Because of the odds.

AV is Alien Vision ejuice... - the company that makes my most favorite ejuices... there are some vendors in Canada but not even one sells my most favorite flavor....:(
