Today I started using a new 510 carto to try out a new ejuice I got in the post recently, and it was working fine initially, but after about 10-15 vapes I started to notice a burning taste. Didn't think anything of it, and continued for another dozen or so times before I noticed that there were sparks and a bright light/flame coming from the end opposite the mouthpiece. I immediately stopped and tossed it, having never seen this before. It was brand new when I got it, so I imagine it wasn't typical wear & tear, but rather a dead carto.

I could smell a very foul smoke stench on the threaded part of the carto, and saw a small burn on my SB where it connects to the 510. Thankfully none of my other cartos (4 going at the moment) show sparks or flames or lights and they don't have the smokey taste. The burn mark rubbed right off so I hope it didn't cause any particularly thorough damage to my PV. For an hour or so after I stopped I had terrible heartburn and felt nauseous, but am alright now.

From now on I think I'll vape while looking at my carto threads to see if any sparks fly up next time. Had I been more observant, I would have caught it right when it started.

Wow, that's the first time I've ever heard of that. Just curious...what brand of carto?

I'm not sure the brand name, but here is a link to the item I bought. 1 out of the 5 I received showed sparks, so I don't think it's any negligence on the manufacturer's part; more like a fluke.
