picture is worth a thousand words right so here we go lol
for vision regulars:

first is stock seal
2nd remove inner ring
3rd sand sides flat for easier filling.

vision giant seals are the same:

aw23o7.jpg

giant on top regular on bottom
though i have found that if you sand the giant seals flat then sometimes they will stick in the mouthpiece and come out when removing the mouthpiece. simply squeeze the tube a little bit so it holds the seal in. squeeze on the fat sides not the fill opening sides.
also on the giant seals i have several that instead of sanding flat i just used the dremel sanding drum and made the 1/2 round opening much larger but still round in shape. this works very well also.

and now that the new CE2 have this type of seal removing the center ring would apply to them as well. the center ring also had to be removed on older CE2 seals but the seals looked different and i dont have an example laying around handy to take a pic of lol

and always remember when filling that the top opening (juice going in the other one) is not restricted by juice in any way. if there is a big enough drop of juice in the opening it can trap the air in the carto and the fresh juice wont go in. flattening the fill holes on the seals makes it much harder for the juice to close it off in this way.

i hope this is of use to some folks :)

really? pics still not work right? ok ok i'll add more

the inside ring can contact or come too close to the coil and can cause a burnt or nasty taste.
flattening the sides makes it easier to drip juice down the side when filling. also helps keep the juice from pooling in the opening which can cause air to be trapped inside.
the notch on the side in tim's post allows the seal to sit on the cup without pushing down on the wicks. supposed to improve wicking to the cup but i personally have not ever had to do this myself. i think also tim's pic is a fluxo seal and not a vision seal but all the same physics apply

I'm a tad confused. I was going to order a pack of these as a backup for my Stardusts, 'cause I was curious. I still have a couple of boxes of the old ones, which I like just fine, I just like the Stardusts better.

Now here is my question: I use the old ones with those Vision-like plugs that used to be on the site, the conversion ones. I love those, to me they actually make the flavor better. Yes, the inner raised ring needed to be trimmed because sometimes it was too close to the coil and singed. Are these new ones somehow different from the old ones with the conversion plug? I remember when those plugs were first tried out, some people loved them and some people not so much - are the complaints I am seeing of the same variety, or are the new fluxos actually significantly different in other ways? From the description on the site, I'm seeing a cup made of different ceramic, and a slightly raised center post - that doesn't seem like it should create any problems?

Are people just having problems with the plugs?

Help me out here, I don't want to waste twelve bucks - spent too much money as it is this past week. :)

I also liked the older conversion plugs, and used them regularly. The older ones looked sort of like the far right one in Harmonic's picture. The ones in the new Fluxos aren't flat sided, like the old ones. They are notched, so the fill space isn't as big. I fill mine with 20ga needles, so it isn't a problem. The big difference is the fact that the center tube in the new Fluxos is slightly longer; so that when the drip tip is inserted, the bottom of the tip sits against the silicone seal. With the older conversions, there was a space between the end of the drip tip, and the shoulder of the seal. There is absolutely no leakage into the drip tip with these new ones. But it is advisable to trim off the flange on the underside, that goes into the cup.

Oh, ok. The sides are not a problem for me either, since I also fill even the old conversion ones with a needle. And trimming the underside "bump" makes sense.

But the taste and wicking are pretty much the same as the old ones, right?

They are about the same, flavor and wicking wise. I trim the inner "nub" on both.
