Hi all, on monday I get some vape mail - a Vision Slip (or Silp as it says on it) 18350 mod. I heard about the problems with the spring, but God, for 19 bucks it was a steal so I bought it with intention to mod / change the spring. Otherwise it looks fantastic on the pictures and I think it's the shortest and thinnest non-mech 18350 mod. Some more info?

I just got one. Nice size and feel, larger button than an ego. Doesn't seem to like low ohm coils. I like the length of an ego 650 and this is about the same but fatter and heavier. Not as heavy as my MVP. I bought a 510 to ego adapter for my ego only clearos and a higher ohm coil for a vivi nova to see if it works better.

Low price means if I drop it or lose it I won't cry.

No problems with the spring or anything else.

well, I got it like three hours ago and I'm a bit disappointed. here's why:

cons:
- air channels too thick and vape with a protank 1 is extremely airy (will try my pt2 later)
- feels to me like it's regulated to smthng like 3.3v rather than 3.7v, not enough vapour with a 2.4 ohm coil. will try a 1.8 ohm later

pros:
- build quality is great, only the spring looks craррy
- no distance between tank and base when lightly tightened as previously reported

will report when i try it with a different combo @ 1.8 ohm

@PaulBHC at how many ohm do you vape the thing?

You got me curious. I came home, checked a charged battery (AW 700mah) shows 4.2v. I put it in, fired it and get 4.2 at the pin. Put the vivi nova on the MVP and get 2.2 ohms, aspire nova bdc shows 2.0 ohms. Both tanks vape well on both mods with the MVP set at 7w.
I think what I am getting is a quick drop off from the AW battery in the Slip.

I haven't noticed an air problem except that when the performance drops I tend to draw harder or longer trying to get some vape.

Update: tried 3 wraps 32 kanthal a1 in a protank head and it wapes AWESOME (don't have an ohm meter, but i guess it's around 1.5 ohm). the thing is, it initially only blinked and couldn't fire the coil at all, then i tried on a ego battery, it fired, then i vaped a minute or so on the ego, then swapped it to the slip and it worked. TONES of vapour, i now WILL order a second one of these!

I can't help you guess the resistance but glad to hear it is working for you. I'm having good luck with 1.8/1.9 dual coils.

I thought about the video and the bottom spring. Would it be a fuse? Is there such a thing as spring steel that will melt like a fuse? If not then taking out the spring and screw and stacking washers may make a difference. Maybe adding one of those fuse discs as well.

I solved the spring issue by removing it, sanding both ends and putting it back the other way around - with the widest last coil contacting the negative pole of the battery, no need for a new spring.
Btw, I ordered a second Slip since only one local vendor offers them now in my country and I was not sure if they will reorder after all the bad talk about the device in internet.

I tried your trick of sanding the spring and flipping it over. Didn't help me. It still dropped vapor at under 4.0v. Somewhere around 3.95 volts by my multimeter.

Fixed it for a penny. Today while on the road, when it dropped, I unscrewed the bottom cap and dropped in a shiny copper clad steel USA penny. When it dropped vape hours later, I checked the battery and it was 3.7. I got twice the time, roughly 1ml to 2ml.

You are right - I changed the spring and immediately felt the difference in battery life. Also, it completely fries my lower ohm atties, so I went back up to 2+ ohm. Here's how I made it - just a piece of thick copper wire:
