Vision Spinner 2 help

OK so I am only 3 weeks into vaping. I guess I shouldn't have upgraded everything so fast, because now I'm having problems and I'm at a loss. I just got a Vision Spinner 2, two days ago. I loved it, when it was working LOL. Anyway, my juice is 50\50 VG, pg, my coil thing is 3.0. My vapor tasted burned, and then my light flashed white when I let go of the button, did a bit a research and read that it was probably a burned out coil. I was thinking 2 days of light use and already needing a coil sucks, but ok I put in a new coil. Same result burnt taste and blinking light. What am I doing wrong?

Possibly holding the firing button too long and the Spinner's over X time for protection is kicking in. The burnt flavor, could be because you didn't let the wick and coil saturate and soak before using the first time, and from having the voltage too high for that coil. The blinking could also be from a dead or very low battery, even if you "charged" it you may not of since those chargers are horrible. The Vision Spinner was my first vape and chargers either were broken quickly or within a week or two wouldn't charge.

Hi

What'dja get? If you bought on line can you provide us a link?

You said your "coil thing is 3.0" - we need to know more about what you are using. Did you get something like a Protank 3?

On a practical level, it sounds like you have the voltage on your Spinner turned up too high. What voltage is it set at and have you tried a lower setting?

If you are getting a burnt taste (we call those "dry hits"), if usually means your wick cannot pull the eliquid fast enough to keep up with your battery. There are a couple of things you can do:

1. Dial down your voltage. This will vaporize the eliquid at a slower rate.
2. Take a sharp draw (or two) on your drip tip (without engaging your battery). This will pull more eliquid into the coil so that it will be available when you press the battery button and take a draw.

You will get the feel of this over time and develop a sense of how often you will need to do this to avoid "dry hits".

I didn't buy anything online, just a local ecig store, the only thing that came in a box was the battery. Nothing else has any information on it. Voltage that worked well was 4.3, anything lower I wouldnt get a good vape.

That's awfully high, especially for any of the typical clearomizers sold with a Spinner type battery. That will be the source of anything being harsh or burnt tasting.

Will my battery know when I'm getting dry hits? Is that what's causing the blinking light?

What's going on is the battery protection is kicking in. It's a combination of too high a voltage setting, whatever the resistance is of the coil in your clearo, and possibly holding the fire button too long, trying to take too long of a drag off it.

We really need to know what is being used on the Spinner. Since the vape shop gave you literally nothing to go on... can you post a picture of the clearo? Are there any markings or writing on it? For example, if it's a real Kanger device - not a knockoff - it will have Kangertech stamped into the base part that screws onto the battery.

When you boil spaghetti at too high of a temp it boils over making a mess. Blowing on the pot, cooling the surface can kill the boil over. So apply to Evaporating eliquid. If too hot lower the heat or increase suction. You have to find a middle between fast inhaling a cigarette and slow barely there inhale. If your suction is too soft with most tank systems the eliquid will not feed. This results in burnt hits. If suction is too high, causing the temp to drop below evaporation level then you lose vapor production and likely flood the atty head. Try around 3.7v with normal cigarette suction as a starting point. Keep in mind as you vape it takes a bit for the wick to recover the saturation. Try not to chain vape. Keep it up your on the right track.

4.3v at 4 ohms is 1.4 amps/6 watts. That should be the sweet spot for the Spinner and what looks like a Kanger Evod/Aspire BDC. Coils on both of those have been notorious for early failures.

I'd take it back to the store and buy a 5 pack of coils, install one and try again at 4.3v. I'm betting on a gunked up coil, especially with 50/50 juice.

The store can check your battery level, but flashing is indicative of a dead battery. Has that coil been vaping for 3 weeks? Anything past 3 or 4 days is usually the end of life for maximum flavor on those.

Vision Spinner Manual Instructions and Tips

The Vision Spinner battery simply fits right into your current battery’s place. There is no fiddling with multiple components or difficulties installing the battery as long as your model allows for a 510 thread. Users that are looking to maximize their Spinner can follow the tips below:

If the charger is not charging, you need to tap the battery button one time. This will activate charging mode.
There are lights seen when charging takes place. Red indicates that charging is still needed. Green indicates that your battery is fully charged.
Press the button on the battery quickly 5 times in succession to lock your battery. This is great when packing your atomizer away and wanting to hold a charge.
There is a cutoff timer included. Simply hold in the button for 10 seconds to ensure the battery is off. This should be done upon removal.
The LED will blink when you need to charge the battery.
Voltage can be changed to control the overall vapor produced. The higher the voltage, the thicker your vapor will be.

I'm thinking I'm just too new for my upgrade, I'm going to set that one a side and go back to my original one for a while, I'll read and learn more and pick it up again when I feel more educated

When I first started vaping I had all kinds of fits. I bought the gambit of levels before settling with a Kayfun rebuildable tank and a Vamo regulated mod(now mechs) The coils I make last a really long time like 8 weeks with 3-4 wick changes. Basically the consistency is crap at the lower end of vape gear. You get a small amount of vapor and a lot of hit and miss. I suggest getting on YouTube and searching for vape reviews. Get an idea of what size and how to use an advanced device. But most importantly do what your comfy with. Stopping cigs is tough enough with out over complicating things.

I agree with Tom. Check out Phil Pusardo's reviews on YouTube. There's probably at least one for each kind of comonly used mod or tank on the market, He usually gets one in the mail for review when it's released. He's fair, but not necessarily attached to the manufacturers. If he doesn't like something, he will point out its flaws ... er, opportunities.

Watch Phil review and demo the Aspire CE5 BDC (which is what I think was in the picture you posted).
