What's the point upgrading from my Vision to an eleaf Istick? I already have to run my bottom coil tank and vivi nova mini on the lowest voltage setting on my vision spinner or it tastes burnt, so it doesn't seem like power is the reason to upgrade?
I upgraded from the Vision Spinner II to a Vaporshark DNA30; and what I could tell you from my experience is that Variable voltage is quite a manual task when it comes to Cartomizers and Clearomizers. The wattage adjustment gives you an independent variable with a lot more control range, which in turn would set the appropriate voltage necessary based on the current resistance on your coil.
By current, I mean at this moment in time and not in the circuit context, as the resistance of any coil goes up when there's gunk buildup or just structural degradation of the wire itself. I used a Nautilus mini on my spinner, and although I was getting a lot of the notorious gurgling, I was still experiencing dry hits at times. Immediately after playing with the settings of my VSDNA, I was able to not only get a much more dense, hot vape; but the gurgling was gone, and so were the dry hits.
Although the iStick is not a true DNA, and may suffer from slight accuracy issues (in lieu of RMS); the ability to actively control voltage through wattage makes your experience a LOT more consistent than just being able to bottleneck your battery's voltage at will.
In my opinion, the iStick is more than likely a
fantastic upgrade in all aspects from a Spinner mod as it will let you know when it's time to clean your coil, and when resistance increases faster over time; when to replace your heads.
The vs series
is a bit pricey, but all things considered it's very difficult to find a better use for 40 dollars on a controlled mod than on an eLeaf iStick.
