Hello everybody,

I'm new to this forum and fairly new to e-smokies, so I hope you can help me out. I've had my Vision Spinner variable voltage model since early July 2016 (now is 09MAR16, so 8 months), bought from a local vendor. Late night, the battery just stopped hitting-- not even lighting up. The battery is supposed to blink rapidly when it has lost charge, which it has done so in the past, but I didn't notice it doing so, although I was driving at the time. I assumed that it had lost charge, so I plugged it in overnight, and tried again the following morning. I saw the battery go through the usual colored light cycles indicating its charge level-- yellow for low, blue for moderate, white for fully charged-- but, even though it showed the white color when I unplugged it, clicking the hit button does nothing. Ordinarily, upon pressing the hit button, the battery would at least show a colored light even when not connected to the cartomizer. Connecting it to the cartomizer showed the same thing. Changing the coil on my cartomizer (not surprisingly) didn't help either. It seemed to be holding charge less and less robustly over time, but I thought it might have just been that I was smoking it harder than I had been. Now I'm not so sure. How long do these batteries usually last? Is it just dead?

If there are mods smaller than a Gameboy pocket, maybe I'll think about it, but those big boxes just look silly imo
I'm a bit of a tightwad so I only buy enuf to get by. I love it when things die, it's like forcing me to upgrade :)

Spinners were cloned alot, and hence not great quality. 8mths is awesome ( unless you paid more than $15 ). Great mods a very cheap now.

I got a CoolFire IV for Christmas from my daughter and her boyfriend, and I am loving it. It is nowhere near the size of a Gameboy (we have a couple of versions at home), and fits my hand and vaping style very comfortably.

I am an "older woman" with small hands, and the size and versatility of the CoolFire IV is great for me. I am using a fairly basic tank - Kanger Evod Glass with Kanger single coils - but, according to the information provided with the CoolFire IV, it can handle anything down to a .5 ohm coil with the proper tank.

I'll have to look into those when my exceptionally long-lived Spinner X.Fir actually bites the dust. Which I totally paid at least $25 for, and I now know that was overpriced.
There seems to be a resurgence with new round battery units hitting the market, aimed as "starter kits". Variable-voltage only, but with a lot more power capacity than the smaller Spinner-types..

Wow lots of replies! Sorry it took me a bit, and thanks for the support! I feel so stupid saying this, but it must be said: I took a good Q-tipping to the electrode, and now it hits fine so far. I bought a backup ego just in case-- a cheapie Kanger one to match my tank. Less of a hit when that runs its course.
Yeah, my dad has my older Vision II Spinners and they are still going. A year and 7 months on them. Only problem has been the charging Since the beginning. Sometimes it took 2 charges but they still work. As they say here, you always buy your back ups first. ;)

I borrowed my wife's cheap one while I was waiting, since she never uses it. But trust I will not be doing that again. I learned my lesson.
