I don't post very often but I would like to offer an opinion and welcome feedback.
I bought into the "hype" surrounding the Vivi Nova and purchased both the standard and mini versions. I'll admit I haven't used clearomizers since the CE2, gave up due to the tank cracking issue and moved on to the LR cartomizers. With all the rave reviews on the Vivi, I thought there must be something to this. I find the plastic taste, hard draw (seems like they cut the air hole too low on the stem) and lack of flavor have driven me back to cartomizers. Specifically the Smoketech 1.7 in the XL and shorty versions with and without tanks.
Break-in periods, cleaning and dry burning don't seem to address any of my complaints.

Now I have read a few negative reviews, but it seems like the general consensus is positive.

Has anyone else experienced the same?

in the end for pure flavor carts will almost always win, the air your drawing through the cart is being flavored before it ever gets to the vapor stream, whereas something like a nova is only flavoring the vapor/air after passing the coil. just my belief from what I have read or seen.
in the end the vivi is becoming so popular becuase of the ease of use, reliability etc. as for the draw? i do not like the vivi reg draw at all but I do like the draw off the mini.

I have not. I love the vivi they are less apt to crack or frost then the reg Clearos. They use diff plastic. But i went to metal to eleminate the whole worry. No plastic to react with juice. since it breaks down so well I can just pop the top to check the level. I'm hoping though that they will devise a glass tank. IMO the Neptune is a waist as it has till got the plastic tank but just has a metal sleeve over it.
I do clean my clearos often. I have one remaining CE5 that has not melted but do not plan on replacing it. Don't know much about the Smoketech.
IMO.

if you are referring to some of the smoktech tanks they rock bigtime -have the titan and the vivi. dont use the vivi much anymore but i like the titan for kickin back chaining while playin games or something.

i have both novas and have used some heads that just taste bad and some that taste as good as my smoketech super sorties. i am a big fan of the ss cartos and use them every day. out of 11 nova heads i had 1 that was bad off the get go and 1 that went bad in less than a week. with that said i have 3 heads that taste better than my ss and rebuilt the 2 bad ones. so if it is not up to what you are use to then it could be a bad head i have 4 1.8ohm, 4 2.4ohm , 3 2.8 ohm out of all used i have had 2 that where bad a the start and one that was still good but the wicks all broke off it.

I just noticed this. I've been using a Nova for the past 2 days. I like the amount of vapor and although the taste is slightly cleaner than a cartomizer, it seemed dull. Tonight, I filled a cartomizer with the same liquid and the flavor comes through noticeably more than the Nova.

Because of that, I ordered a cartomizer tank setup - a J-tank with standard resistance Boge cartomizers. I think I'll like that more than the Nova. It'll be my first cartomizer tank. I started vapin' about two weeks ago.
