I am using an Ego twist / mini viva nova tank setup. I have tried both 1.8 and 2.8 OHM heads and usually have the twist set just under 4 volts. The 1.8 heads seem to work better but I keep getting dry hits and muted / burnt flavor no matter what I use. I am still pretty new to vaping and am not sure if I am doing something wrong. Can the type of juice cause this to happen?
Occasionally I will find a sweet spot and get really nice flavor for a bit but it never lasts very long. I was thinking about trying some different clearos but wanted to see if I could get these working right first.

When you vape are you tilting it so its in the same position as a regular cigarette? AKA pointing straight out from your face? you have to tilt these like that ... when mine are new after they have set overnight full they work great for the rest of their duration I never let them get less than half full with juice when using them and I like the heads with the thinner wicks on them versus the big wick

Hi there, I am using the same setup myself. I find with the 1.8 vaping at a lower setting works better than higher. I have been using this set up for four months now. I am sticking with the 2.4 now, and seems to be the best for me at the higher setting. Also make sure you have enough juice in the tank, when it gets low, I swirl the contents to make sure the wicks are fully saturated. Hope this helps. :vapor:

cancerstick, I had the same issue with a full sized VVN at first. I vape 50/50 PG/VG. You've got some great advice already.

The problem you are having is caused by not enough juice wicking to the coil quickly enough. THat's either too much voltage or restricted juice feed. What really helped me was this:

-Take off the top.
-Unscrew the tank's outer sleeve one turn from the bottom metal piece and screw back on just tight enough so it will not come loose by mistake.
-Take off the silicone sleeve (white, rubbery thing) from the head on the center tube.
-There is a metal washer in there that will come off with it. It has a top and bottom to it - have a look at it so you know which way to reassemble.
-Wash the juice off and dry it. I use a bit of paper towel. Doesn't have to be perfect.
-Push the washer down about a millimeter.
-Place back onto center tube (head), being careful not to push it all the way down. I leave it at least a MM high.
-Screw on the top piece, just tight enough so it will not come loose by mistake.
-Vape at low volts and increase power until you've gone too far.

What this process does is make sure that the silicone sleeve is minimally compressing the wicks, giving you the best juice feed possible.

No I usually have it pointing almost straight up and down come to think of it...
I don't always keep the tanks more than half full either!
I will give both of those a try. Thanks.

Yeah straight up and down wont work at all good on these you'll have dry hits pretty much all the time, only after its been sitting for a while and you take a hit it will be very good cause it wicked

After half full they dont seem to work that good either even swirling and holding in proper position, fill the juice just right under the silicone cap and you'll be good
