Hey all, new to vaping. I have been using my Zmax with some dripping attys, bottom coils, and trying to get my Vivi Nova 2.5 to work. I used the vivi nova straight out of the box and it was good. I was waiting for a little more flavor to come out after a tank or so. I was using it a eight watts. When I went to fill it up, with a different flavor, I found it to be super harsh. I washed it out and dried it as everyone shows on youtube. I understand the concept and can build coils for other things and stuff like that, but I keep getting the "coil in the air" taste out of it. I put on a new head, and it was... different, but still weird. I will turn the wattage down low and still have a problem. Sometimes I will crank it up and find it gets less harsh. I just want it to work like it did when it was new. I bought a new head and it does the same thing. What I don't get is, since the resistance wire goes all the way down to the bottom of the head, aren't you always going to have coil exposed to the air with no juice on it? Wouldn't you need non-resistance wire running up to the wick, then go to the resistance? It surprises me that a new head is harsh as well. I have read everything I can on it, but any advanced pointers are appreciated. I am currently loving my cisco dripping atty and modded phoenix bottom coils.

I think you are right. I am trying everything. I had a genesis within like a month of starting to vape, crazy. I may put it away for a while, but I feel like the nova should be simple enough for me. The funny thing is, I have never ever tried a cartomizer, I mainly drip. I ordered some boge cartomizers yesterday. I never tried them because I am mainly after the flavor and it seemed like I would not like them. It would be funny if the cartos turn out to be what I have been looking for. I hope I like the flavor. What do you like for the carto tank? Does it matter? I want a tank that doesn't slide so easily, it worries me. Do you slit the cartos or just use a hole in them? Thanks

dripping is definitely the best way to get the best flavor, but is not always prctical. the carts, unfortuately will mute the flavor a bit, but personally for me, i find them nearly foolproof. i have had several devices/setups loaned to me for the last month, but i always go back to my inferno. simple, and never lets me down. i don't mod anything. it gets used straight out of the box.

vaping is lots of trial and error, you just need to find your niche. as stupid as this sounds, make sure that your failures are not user error before you give up on any setup. you will find lots of opinions on what is great and what is junk, but it really only matters what works for you. i always reccomend the inferno to anyone wanting to get started, but again, that's just my personal experience/preference. stick with it. you'll find it! :toast:

you should definately try a carto or two, although i'm just hoping the boges you get in are good ones, as the recent batches have been hit or miss....i'm a firm believer though that you find what works for you and stick with it, i enjoy the novas, but i've not found one other clearomizer that i can enjoy at all, the nova is the only one...and i mainly haven't retired it because, well, you can't kill the thing. as far as cartos, i almost always suggest trying out the ikenvape.com cartomizers (ask doog, i'm sure he's seen it enough by now lol) as they simply out perform everything else on the market right now, and i've never EVER gotten a DOA carto.

Also you might want to check out the Splitfires from GotVapes. I bought one cuz of all the hype in their subforum, and I have to say I'm going to stop buying VN's for those. It's the most vapor I've gotten from a tank, and I get more flavor out of it than my VNs
Funny, I have ignored them for some reason, I will give it a shot. How would you think this compares to a boge carto, to dripping?

lots of people love their stuff, they just sell good product....i can honestly say that they are the only place i buy cartomizers from, and they also have my favorite RY4 blend....so they get a good bit of cash from this guy.

I started with cartos and always liked them. I'm just waiting for Ikenvape to get some in. Whenever I check they are out :p

Oh and in term of dripping, I never got it to work with an atty. I did buy a rebuildable phoenix addy, and I've used that a lot the last week, but right now I'm enjoying the Splitfire I just got :p

Most all of the long term people here started with attys or cartomizers. They learned a lot with the progression to the new devices we have now. I don't think high voltage is all it's cracked up to be, but I'm old. You really just don't need it that high with the things coming out here lately. The goal is to find the best vape for you whatever it may be.

The only head I've managed to get decent results from a nova is a 2.8 ohms anything else tasted like crap regaurdless of the voltage or juice not sure why and never cared enough to research into it just stuck with my 2.8s apart from one dead atty no problems and flavour and throat hit that comes close to my genesis
