You shouldn't be using any force to tighten up either the caps or the nova onto your device. The Vivi Nova tank is plastic and over tightening on plastic can strip the threading. Doing this can make room for the juice to flow over and past the little silicone ring on the tanks causing leaks.

Well that may answer my question, although I haven't noticed any silicon rings

Another thing to be aware of, the wicks, if just a tad too long, may get caught in the threading. Just clip them back, just a tad, with nail clippers. The nail clippers work better than scissors. The whole thread fits in the clipper whereas the threads in the wick are slippery and they slide while the scissors are cutting.

Just make sure all of the wicking material is totally inside the metal part before screwing down the plastic tank. Actually, on the Nova, the seal is on the metal Before the threads start. They are on mine anyway. ;)
