Vivi Nova Modifications?

Hey all just got my Vivi Nova in the mail today. http://www.madvapes.com/Vision-5ml-Nova-Tank-Clearomizer-V2_p_3736.html

I like it better than the Stardust. How can I tell if this is a V2 or a V2.5? Someone said madvapes are shipping 2.5 but havent updated the site to reflect it yet.

Also, I am sometimes getting an airy draw and reduced vapor from it. Only sometimes. Does anyone know why this is and if there are modifications to it? Should I try a different head? I am using the one that came on it.

I noticed some airholes near the threading but when I screw it on to my KGO those airholes are covered. Is this "working as intended"?

A V2 will have short wicks while a V2.5 will have longer wicks that reach the bottom of the tank. If you take a straight pin and unravel, fluff the wicks they should wick faster. Depends on the VP / PG ratio you're using.

Okay these have long wicks, thanks. I am using 100% VG but it is really thinned out by vendor to the point where you wouldn't even know (VV). I have seen ppl cutting the wicks. I don't understand why since I thought longer wicks = more reach and that this is a good thing?

Is what I am describing a wicking issue? I don't have enough experience to tell. If it is, I can live with it but just wondered. I thought it had something to do with the airholes being swallowed up when I screwed it on my KGO.

Simply un-raveling the twist on the wick should make it perform better, although you may still need to thin the juice a bit more. The juice needs to get to the coil to produce any vapor. If the threads are making good contact, the holes are not an issue (would create a tighter draw).

Could you explain what you mean by the twist on the wick? My wicks are 4 on each side stretching down to the bottom. One of the other heads seems to be all twisted together but I am not using that one. Is this what you're referring to?

Each of the 4 strands of wick are made up of fine threads twisted together to form the string. Unraveling the twist in the wick should make it easier for the juice to get to the coil... It's an old trick from the very early models CE2 from Royal Smoker, which always had wicking problems....some things never change..

I've read people breaking a toothpick off into one of the holes to make the draw a bit stiffer.
