Howdy Folks,

Again.. (as with my question about the Pheonix) Im sure there is a thread out there that I have not located solving this problem so hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction.

Ive recently purchased the Vivi Nova and it vapes great. My ownly issue is the flavor is really muted. I mean, I dont taste the juice after a few pulls.

Ive I vape the same juice on a 1mL fluxomizer, I get great flavor. My assumption here is that they are the same class of device, both CE2. Is this assumption correct? If it is, what could be so different with the Vivi Nova that it kills flavor?

Has anyone been able to troubleshoot this issue? Figured out how to unleash the flavor :)..

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Cotton gave me more flav than the silica.

+1. I'm using the smok redux, but it's very similar and I'm getting very good results using cheese cloth for the wick.

As far as things you might try, you could experiment with trimming the wicks down to about 1/4th of an inch and unbraiding them a little. Be sure to hold the pv horizontal when you vape. Also, experiment with stacking a small diameter piece of wick on top of the coil. You can unbraid one of the ends you cut off and use one of the braids or use a little cotton from a que tip or something. Make sure it's small though, as a full size wick on top of the coils doesn't work well in my opinion.

For me, doing that seems to make the vape "wetter" (for want of a better term) and more flavorful. Just be sure you have a spare head before you start just in case you don't like it. :vapor:

yup..... put it back in the box and leave it in a drawer while using something else. -this is a common problem with the nova. i wish the flavor production matched the reliability of the product it would be at the top of every ones list.

Try upping the voltage a bit.Sounds silly but but with my carto tanks I add 2 to the resistance and that gives a good target voltage thats close to my sweet spot.

Someone posted on here last night that the ViVi Novas were showing a full ohms difference in resistance when comparing them dry and then full of e-liquid.

Someone using VW isnt apt to notice this since it will adjust accordingly but bumping the voltage up 1 volt made a big difference in flavor (and didnt result in the burnt taste I would have gotten from my carto tanks)

Give that a try and see if it helps.

It doesn't have to be organic as long as it's 100% cotton. #10 sewing diameter works great. If it is bleached, you will want to boil and dry it first. Search the threads and Youtube. You'll find it really cheap. Wall-mart should carry it.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I read about people trying candle wick as well. Lots of experimenting for me to do heh.

This is the method I use. I get perfect tight coils. Takes a few minutes with yarn. Never tried candle wick. Yarn would wick better and is surely cheaper. Boil candle wick and make sure there is no metal woven in it.

Thanks for the video, I've been rebuilding with silica so far, should be fun to try the yarn out.

Rolled cheese cloth works also.

I rebuild my Kanger T3's with USP rolled cotton from CVS Pharmacy. No need to boil and dry.

I've tried yarn and cotton embroidery thread and they don't seem to wick as well for me. If you have a Michael's near you they have cotton yarn. Our's stocks Aunt Lydia's and Peaches and Cream brands. Just check the label to be sure it's 100% and not a blend.

Allow slack in your coil for the cotton to swell, because it does once it's wet.

My T3 re-wicks last about a week and the taste is much better than the stock wicks which aren't too bad to begin with.

I haven't tried candle wicks because I remember seeing a news story several years ago about lead in the wicks of store bought candles and I don't know if this has been changed.

I'm using cheese cloth with excellent results, but I do plan on picking up some cotton make up pads. They're supposed to be great plus easy to work with. You can pick them up at Wal-Mart and other places. I'm going to check Dollar Tree for these: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nt-cottons-different-wicks-3.html#post8069106
I bought some of those the other day at Big Lots for about $1. They are easy to cut, but the cotton isn't uniform, so when I tried to make a coil they came apart rather easily. YMMV.

Evidently they're not all the same, but these are supposed to be pretty consistent, judging from customer reviews on the Dollar Tree page, and what xMackx posted in the 'different cottons..' thread. I going to be out this evening and I'm hoping to pick some up. At least the price is right, and I'll just give them to wifey if I don't use them lol.

I'll have to say again tho, I'm pretty happy with cheese cloth. I just got a dud from COV, put in a cheese cloth wick, and it's performing just fine.
