Vivi Nova threads are shallow. Afraid they might strip my battery threads.

Hey! I have two authentic vivi novas and the threads are very shallow. I compare them with my cartos and the difference is noticeable. Anybody else notice this? I was thinking of putting some metal duct tape on them to make the fit tighter and hopefully prevent them from striping out my ego twist.
My first battery did strip out. I never used the nova on it. In fact I mostly used the ego type threads on that one. I think it was just a cheap battery.

I really like the vivi nova. I rebuild the coils and change the wicks.

Anybody else out there have a way to deal with this?

I have had this problem on my 1300mah vision spinner when I put on one of the new vivi mini's with the spring loaded posts.
It messed up my batterys threads. After that my larger vivi nova didn't thread well
I bought a 510 to 510 adapter and just screw it onto the battery then I can use either vivi nova with out worring about the threads.
I was concerned about not being able to charge the battery if I messed up the threads too badly.

Could be the battery threads there are tolerances built in to them and sometimes they add up to cause some slop. But some gap is to be expected as the Vivi has it's air hole at the 510 connection. You did not say what battery/mod you have but if it is one of the thin ego type batteries they make a skirt that will go over the ego outer threads and support your tank. Some tanks like the Protank come with them. But Like Abstactcousin said the Protank type is a better tank. But Don't by the Protank if you want one get the Protank V2 or the one I like is the Davide Glassomerizer. Great tank also the Protank V3 is about to come out and it is suppose to be a dual coil version. Personally I'd go with the Davide. But Protank V2's are easier to find. I'll wait on the Protank V3 to see how it turns out and what the heads cost.

Oh since you rebuild your coils you should go to the Discount vapor site and get the premade Wire. This wire has the no/low resistance wire tips like the original coils were made with. If you just use kanthal with out these tips our burning rubber. The rubber gromet at the tip of the heads. makes a difference. also will allow you to rebuild them longer as eventually the rubber get hard from the heat with out the correct wire. If you want to see what Im talking about look at a new head that has not been rebuild and you will see the wire spot welded to the end of the resistance wire. This wire is usually sold for use in rebuilding Ithaca and other types of RBA's.
