I was wondering if anyone has attempt to build a battery mod/replacement for the VK cartridges?

I have actually attempted to take a dead battery appart, but I desroyed the tread in the process.

It seems to me that the electronics are fairly simple.

The biggest issue I see would be finding a connector that you could thread on to.

The airflow issue shouldn't be very tough to solve.

So please let me know.
Especially if you have made one, and can provide the instructions.

I'm waiting for a VK battery to fail in order to make one of these for a VK/801/510 combo unit.

Unfortunately I had one that I could not get to charge.

It worked fine at first, but started seeing bad perfomance after a couple of weeks.

My other three don't seem to last as long as they originally did.

Personally I blame the issues from the original USB chargers.

Well I'll be ordering some replacement batteries when Steve gets them.

I attempted to rip apart the battery, but I messed up the threads real bad, so it's not usable for anything. (Yeah grats steve, those buggers are really in there).

Did I read somewhere that the threads for the VK battery are the same as the 901? If so, there are many many mods that would fit the cartomizer.

Edit: I went and dug up the info. The threading IS the same, but the VK requires greater airflow. Using a DC Jack for the fitting would alleviate that problem - it has a lot more airflow than the 901 battery thread part.

OK you said using a DC Jack.
Are you talking about some part that I couls readily buy at say Radio shack?

I have been looking at various threads and am about to take the jump to try a battery mod.

Probably a concoction of brass piping, or a flashlight mod.

Jump having problems trying to find what connection to screw the cart on to.

Cool.

I stopped at the local Radio Slack (no not a typo), and when I asked them for Lithium ion protected batteries I got this great impression of 2 deer caught in the headlights.

All this while I holding a package in my hand the says "Radio Shack - your place for parts and knowledge".

I HAD to leave, before I choked someone!

OK, so I'll look for places to order batteries on the net.

I am working out lot's of issues, just, taking moe time than I want. I will have all new products for July. I do have replacement battery's for my existing customers only. These are not on the website. I bought them, even though they are not exactly what I want to have in my VK kits, they work great. I will not be able to ship, after today, till Friday, as I am taking my daughter to look at colleges.

Thanks for all the continued support, and soon, you will all BE SMILIN AGAIN:D
