It is advertised as working with the Vapor King passthrough and Rated at 5v & 1000mA. Yet what I got in only says Input 12V-24V, Output: DC 5.0v +-1% Max:200mA. Somebody posted their PT was not working after using the car USB. So where is the 1000mA which I am guessing is needed to run a PT that doesn't have a battery backup in its cord?

I have a AC Adapter (USB) that has protection (OverVoltage/Short Circuit) that produces 1 Amp (500mA to each USB port) and this passthrough will not work with it (suspect it needs 1 Amp all by itself and not split). A PT with a 320maH backup battery does work with this though. That is what has me thinking the car adapters 200mA isn't going to be enough to use it either.

I have not tried it yet and will not until someone explains the difference in the advertied 1000mA vs. gotten Max:200mA difference. I don't have any other use for the VK Car Adapter except to run the PT with it.

What exactly are the requirements for this VK passthrough anyway? I'd like to make it a little more mobile than just using it when on the computer.

Thanks Steve for the xtras in the order. Finally got some 510 cartridges cleaned out to test out the sample juices. With my first bought 16mg juices and things going on I still used analogs. I couldn't believe how much of a difference just the 18mg would make-had me smilin after being on the warpath out of a side ache and not getting enough nic, only 3 analogs when doing dishes since your 18mg came in. Speaking of which when you are sitting back in a hot tub of water just to relax those aching old bones is anyone risking vaping while doing that?

It sounds like you got one of the old ones. There was a screw up from China and they sent him 200ma ones instead of the ones needed to power a passthrough. The passthrough requires at least 800ma though I highly recommend 1000ma since I have not tried it on an 800.

If you ordered the one from the super sale section of the site, this is the 200ma version, it will charge your batteries but will not run a PT. If you ordered the right one from the accessories section, then someone made a mistake packing up your order. Just PM Steve(smilin) or Mark (dohsma) and they will take care of the mistake.

Steve had sent me one of the sale ones as an extra, but I decided to order the extra powered one just in case I ever wanted to use the pass through in the car, plus I wanted one to keep in my car and one for the motor home. For some reason I got the lower powered one also - I am thinking some of them might have gotten mixed in with the high power ones. I took it out to the car just to see if it would run my passthrough and it works fine, so I am not even going to bother about getting the higher one.

If I thought I would use the passthrough in the car regularly I would, but honestly - as long as I can charge my extra longs with it in the car that is really all I need. If you will have a use for running the passthrough in the car I would definately mention the mistake in message section of your next order and I am sure he will get it right out to you! ;)

Thanks Phoenix. It was off the accessory page thank goodness and I had emailed Steve asking about it before I bought it since it was for only runing the PT's with. Had the right code on the invoice too, so one just made it to the wrong bin I guess. About once a month I want to go to Fossil Rim (drive through wildlife preserve) to take pictures so a PT on those trips would be best to use since I've turned that into 6+ hour trips most of the time. Signed up for a 2 year membership to get in free and only made it there twice last time, so this time I only renewed for a year and hope to make it more often this round :).

Appreciate you telling me to PM one, I'm more use to emailing so that would have slipped my mind. Have a good day! Just caught JenJens post, for me I really need the better one. Also have 3 hour trips to the city to get an adopted cockers eye checked every 4 months, yes just eye, she lost the other one to glaucoma. This one went out 6 months later and had laser surgery, but she is nearly blind anyway due to a cataract which he won't risk operating on since she didn't do good after the laser surgery-had a hard time getting the pressure back down. Wish I had made the switch to e-cigs way back when all of this started for her sake and mine, but I had forgotten about them until I saw a link on a newspaper site about them.
