Hi all obviously new here and new to ecigs.
I am leaning towerd a 501 for my first ecig due to the pcc.
I like the idea of being able to charge on the go.
the screwdriver is tempting too cause it looks like it has even more vapor and longer batt life, but i see no way to charge on the go so kinda torn.
But atm i am looking at the Magma by volcano e cig.
and wondering what anyone with experience with the company or the product think.
I want good vapor (current pack a day full flavor analog smoker) and portability. i dont wanna be tied to my house or have to lug around 10 diff things to make sure i don't run out every time i leave the house.

Thaks all

There's a long thread about them in the request for reviews area. You can find it here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/requests-opinions-reviews/73258-volcano-magma-5.html

It looks like it's a 510 with a pcc (personal charging case). The 510's are good. You may want to look into an eGo or a Riva for longer battery life, but the pcc does work. I used that before switching to an eGo because I got tired of changing out the battery all the time.

Oh, and welcome to ECF! Let us know what you decide.

I bought a Magma for my PAD camel smokin' hubby, it is a really good 510 he is very happy with it he loves the PCC and the carts are easy to fill (I should know all he does is vape I have to do all the fill work) he has had no complaints other than he did scratch one of the batts the finish is a matte black not super easy to scratch but it can happen. The atomizer is geat every now and then I steal it for my joye batts. He uses the autos and they are not overly sensitive but I would suggest getting 1 manual just incase he has 2 autos and 1 is kinda sensitive the other isn't. I bought mine in peices instead of the kit 1batt 2 atty's and PCC and 1 box carts, went back later and bought 1batt,drip tip and more carts. The battery life is petty good he only charges 1 a day. The vapor is good better than my joye.He charges the PCC 3x's a week sometimes 4. Esmoker online also sells blank carts that will fit. The Joye cats are a tad small. I think it is a good kit and the customer service and shipping thu Volcano is great. You might want to check this kit out also Esmoker 510 Travel Kit I just bought one of these a few weeks ago and it woks eally good they ae manuals though. The price seems good and the blue/black and green/black are scratch resistant. just something to think about. The vapor is great, no PCC but you get 3 mega batts and they really do last I use 1 a day. Sorry so long just wanted to show you options in a similiar price range.

Thanks for the reply upinthehills. i see I typed 501 but i meant 510. Seems to be a good bet from the research I have done, the 510 that is. Thanks so much for the link, i was trolling around and did not see anything on volcano on this board and made me start to doubt my decision. Kinda clicking around looking at other vendors now. Sorta daunting the # of manufacturers, and all the info. Started liking totallywicked then seen some sketchy reviews and people complaining they are very expensive, so back to looking again.

I've been vapeing for a little over 3 weeks and my 1st PV was a Magma. It is a good product but a little overpriced. I like to drip and my kit came with auto batteries which I destroyed the 1st week by flooding atty and having juice drip into batteries causing switch to get stuck. Ordered 2 manual batteries and they solved this problem and work nicely. I would not, however, order a Magma if I were to do it over again. The flavor is kind of weak and I am changing batteries every 1 1/2 hours or so when chain vapeing.

I just got a 3.7v boxmod from Madvapes.com today. I ordered the 510 version with a 801 adapter and LR801 atty and have found my sweet spot. Have not had it long enough to know how long the batteries last, but most people are saying 3- 4 hours of continuous vapeing. Plus it uses lithium ion batteries which are more easily obtainable than the Magma batts. The whole setup with carts, batteries, charger and atty was less than $50. It doesn't, however look anything like a real cig. I thought that mattered at 1st, but after about a week of vapeing I realized looking like a real cig didn't matter. It also works with my Magma attys but I don't get as much flavor as with the 801. TH and vapor are comprable to the LR801 atty though. Most people on here do not recommend getting a mod as your 1st PV, but if I had it to do over I would have. Remember whatever you buy there will be a learning curve and times you get so frustrated that you give up and end up smoking a real cig, but this will pass within a week or two.

looked up the box mod and that is a little more than I want to get into atm. So your saying the 801 is comparable on TH and vapor but gives better flavor. If I understood you correctly? So if you can do a 510 to 801 adapter for the box, couldn't you get that adapter for any current 510 if you chose later? Assuming you would just need new carts for the 801 atty?
Looking through all the great options everyone has given me so far.
The ego looks really good for battery life, just still wondering if they burn the liq or add a harshness i see being described of standard 510's. Oh and joytech's site is pretty sad, they need to fix that thing pronto. I wouldnt order off that site atm.
That ezsmoker thing is a pretty sweet deal for 3 full e cigs. And they have a outstanding supply of liquid flavors.
I appreciate it all, i feel a little better informed and have a new list of web sites to visit and check.

Yes the 510 to 801 adapter will work with any battery. The only thing is if you want to use an LR atty whether 510 or 801 you have to have a battery that is at least 400 mAH. I know very little about batteries, but I know most of the standard batteries are 280 mAH. The higher the mAH the longer the battery will last. You might also look into the Riva/ Ego/ Hello they are highly recommended by most people on this site and have an mAH of 600-1300 depending on the model. If you go the Riva/Ego/Hello route you can by a 510batt to 801 adapter and an LR 801 atty at madvapes for around $12 including shipping. They also sell the Hello starter kit for 54.99 but they are currently out of stock.

I have been using the Ego and hello016 for a few months now.
Standard EGO (650mAH) gets me about 10+ HR of heaving vamping
Ego mega (750mAH) gets me about 12+ hr
Tornado (1000mAH) 14+
And my hello016 (1300mAH) gets me about 18-20 hr of heaving puffing.

I go through about 6ML + off juice a day (med Nic 14-16)

So for battery life any of these are good and all are 510 batteries.
I also use Cartomizers on all of them for less hassle during the day.
Just my :2c:

I did see Ego kits for around $50.00 today on the supplier’s page today.

Good luck and happy vamping. :headbang:

i got a blu at first which from what i hear is the same model that volcano offers as a supermini, i liked the size and the style but overall i was unhappy with it, i have however heard that the volcano atty is far supirior, all i can definately say is that personally i am not a fan of blu, i have no experience with volcano, after a week with the blu i switched to the revolver elite, the thing is rad, its a supermini and in comparison it is like a god!!! ive heard about 510's being great units as well but since i own a revolver i spent time on their forum and joined in the 510 killer contest (I WON which im still excited about) and personally if i hadent won i would wait to get any 510 until there are some reviews up about this new e-cig, because the price posted isnt much more than most 510's ive seen (less expensive than some but then again im not that great at finding online deals lol) and it supposed to be better i mean the code name WAS 510 Killer lol. and the pcc has that charge window which is something i cant live without on a pcc anymore, its sooo helpful. other than that the style is rad. but this is just my 2-cents. with whatever you choose its great as long as you like it, and i dont think anyone can argue with that :)

My eGo battery lasts about 12 hours.

I'm rarely out longer than that, so I just put a newly-charged battery on it before I go out.

I've never had an eGo last 24 hours. When I will be gone for the day I usually carry 3 eGos with me. I'll likely need two and I carry an extra just because.

I probably vape way less than you. The eGo battery is 900mAh correct? A 900 on my SD and Chuck lasts me 24 hours, well, more but I usually change them because I don't like the drop in voltage. I take a big long drag every 30 mins or so. Of course if you're a heavy vaper it wouldn't last that long. I guess for someone like me, though, a 900mAh is perfect.

well it always comes down to a personal factor i mean everyone vapes differently for some one battery may last all day while for others it may last 3 hours lol it all depends on frequency of use and drag length, for instance i have a Revolver Elite (love the little thing lol) and as for battery life i change batteries about 4 times a day (pcc is beautiful) and i smoke it like i would a cigarette i take a bunch of puffs every 30 minutes or so and then put it down, now i know that if i sat there puffin on it constantly it will last less time (by alot ) but in the end it works beautifully for me and i have nothing to complain about, but its all about finding your ecig (unfortunately there are alot of comprehensive reviews that wind up being BS or contradictory to another equally comprehensive review, leading to alot of mixed conclusions) thats one reason i decide to go with revolver, i joined and talked in their forum for a while and everyone was really honest with there answers to my questions and there was almost always a rep in the room (obviously supporting them) but it was nice to have someone who was in the company (that would directly feel the pain if i was dissatisfied) that i could discuss things with.

Thanks for all the information and help all. This site has really been a ton of help.
I have decided to go with the Magma. I really like the PCC set up, and they seem to be a great company with good CS, fast shipping, and stand behind their products.
Been very torn between that and the ego, but I can all ways get a ego batt later if I need it and will have the PCC as back up on the go.
And ya know it has style LOL. Seems stupid to say/ consider that, but I will be carrying this with me every where, every day, so it kinda matters.
I will be getting my juice from freedomsmokeusa too thanks to members here referencing them. Can't wait to try some of those flavors they have over there.
Thanks again all, Happy Vaping!
