Well I received my Volcano Inferno kit yesterday and I have to say I am very impressed. So far I am finding that the 16mg juice may be a bit more nic than what I'd really like (averaged a pack a day of Marlboro red 100's before). Anyway, now I'm sitting here with a half a carton of analogs left and finding that I actually might really prefer the e-cig over them, which is not much of a surprise, but is still kinda a pleasant realization. Anyway, starting down the path of hunting up some flavors to try and find something that I may prefer over tobacco flavor. Pretty amazing really. I've been smoking since 1987, so getting free of tobacco is a really good thing for me.

Congrats on getting on the path to be tobacco free. Im a few days shy of 1 month smoke free and couldn't have done it so easily without my e-cigs. For me personally it's been quite easy to keep off them even with the people at work chain smoking. If i get the crave, reach for the vape and let her rip. Plus cigarettes taste like .... to me now. Good luck.

Thanks Copterstyle. I can certainly believe that regular cigs are gonna start tasting nasty. Never thought it would be so easy to switch off of them though. I guess that's one reason I'm really kinda impressed with the good gear instead of those cheapo e-cigs. Now to dive in and start playing with all of the mods and stuff... go fig. ;)

I just started vaping yesterday after smoking for 50 years. Haven't had an analog cig since I got my Ego Twist and Mini ViVi Nova. When I get the urge I just vape and it's great! Right now I am using Kentucky Applewood e liquid. I love it! Such a great flavor! My husband who also smokes tried it and like the flavor also. He's not ready to quit - YET! lol My son recommended it - he quit smoking over 3 months ago after 30 years. He also said that K-max was really good too! Good luck!

Thanks a bunch for the feedback. Just out of curiosity, who is the vendor for the Kentucky Applewood e liquid? I'll give it a try.

The Inferno was what got me into vaping as well. I quit smoking almost overnight with it. It's a really good product IMO. Some people will complain about proprietary threading with it though, but I don't get it. It's a 510 thread. I had to get an adapter for my Kanger tanks, but that was easy and cheap. Anyway, I might be going a bit over your head, but stick around and you'll learn.

If the 16 mg is too high, you could try some 8, and if that's too light, mix them together for some 12. Volcano has some of the best juices I've tried but their dessert selection is a bit limited. Juice comes cheaper too, but it's a subjective hit-n-miss kind of thing. I don't mind spending a few extra cents on good stuff. Their Kona flavor is a good transition from tobacco when you're ready to try others, but might not wanna stray too far from the familiar tobacco. But after a week of vaping Kona, the Tobacco tasted disgusting to me.

So, congrats on quitting the cigs and welcome to the forum and all that good stuff.

Thanks a bunch for the insight. I have indeed been looking at getting an e liquid in the 8mg nic level and if I need to mix the 16mg with the 8mg to cut it a tad, I figure that might work for me. I have to admit, I am already looking at straying a bit out of the tobacco flavored stuff. Volcano has a "Flavor of the week" deal that knocks a few bucks off of the price and this week is a juice called "BlueWater Punch" that sounds kinda good, so I ordered some of that to give it a try. I figure I might as well see what's out there on flavors and who knows... I do think the Inferno was a good jump in point, but I am already looking at the Provari and Kanger rigs and going "Hmmmm"... hehe ;)

Congrats on becoming tabacco free! I have been mostly tabacco free for 3 months now (I had a few cigarettes my first month, and like you said they tasted horrible). Hopefully the government doesn't try to shut down or hinder the ecig market so others can make their first steps towards a tabacco free life easier.

Aye, I hope the government just stays the heck out of regulating things for right now. It figures that the very month I find something worth while to quit smoking with, the government is only weeks away from mucking things up...

That's good stuff, perhaps the biggest seller at my local Volcano store. And the deals of the week are a good way to save a bit of cash.

Quick question? Is there a Volcano store out there in Raliegh, NC? I'll be vending at a steampunk convention in Raliegh, NC in June called ConTemporal and if I can slide away to an actual Volcano store, that would be a fun little side trip. :D

Yessir! It's been really successful. He opened the doors less than 6 months ago and is already opening his second one. I'm pretty cool with the owner and go by there at least weekly just to hang out if nothing else. Gimme a shout when you get ready to head this way. I'll introduce you. The steampunk convention sounds pretty dang cool too. And coincidentally, I think you two will be on common ground in that respect.

Ah, very cool! Mind if I add you as a friend to my currently non-existant friend's list so I can remember to do just that? Hehe, I do leather armor and other steampunk, renaissance, pirate, etc stuffs... Anyway I'm currently putting together a leather case for all my new e-cig stuff for the fun of it. But yeah, I can shoot you a message before we head up that way as I think it would be very cool to drop in to a shop like that and pick up some stuff and maybe meet some more cool peeps into vaping. :D

Neat! I wanna build a steampunk mod, and the guy is looking for steampunk inspirations for the shop decor. I need to go by there tomorrow and see if he's still got the mechanical mod available. It would make an excellent base for the SP thing. I'll mention you and the convention and see what he's got to say.

Sounds very cool. I will definitely be in town in June and if he is into the SP thing, maybe I can hook him up with some builders or such that might be able to help him with some of the décor.

nice, that's what i started with and still use. i just use a mini vivi nova instead of the tube tank now. i smoked my last cig right before i opened the kit. i got their menthol in the highest nic. i was smoking a pad of newports. i thought the juice was gross but i suffered through it and got some other stuff.

i just got pon pon juice and cracked from vapor...... i'd recommend both. i don't like tobacco flavored juice.

Sounds good. I've been looking for a wall treatment for him but I have no idea, other than a scrapyard, where to find other decorative elements since I'm kinda new in town myself. But if you have any sort of connections on where to find elements to outfit the shelves and maybe some furnishings, that'd be awesome. I think the steampunk decor could go very well in a vape shop. I'm trying to persuade him to get a humidifier to create a constant stream of vapor and put it in some sort of apparatus resembling a vaping mod or something.
